That's correct. Pole Arm is only applied when the opposing fig with said ability has their front arc in base contact with your fig after the initial free spin opportunity. You can't "expensive spin" into a fig already in base and pole arm them.
sorry found it but i don't think it triggers pole arm or ram because you don't leave the base contact !!
That's completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter where you started your movement, only where you ended it.
But to clarify:
If a figure fails to break away and spins in place, Ram will trigger for THAT figure, and Polearm could potentially trigger for any opposing figure still touching it.
An opposing figure that makes a free spin while in contact with a Pole Arm warrior will not trigger the Pole Arm ability and will not take Pole Arm damage. - from the Faq
Ram will not cause damage from a freespin. - also from Faq
The rules indicate that you make a break away attempt if you want to "move" the figure. Failing the break away means you are not allowed to "move" your figure, but you do get to rotate it. Thus no ram damage.
Polearm is done when a figure comes into base contact. If you are attempting a break away, you are already in base contact. If you make the break away and move your figure a 1/4 inch (or any amount), then you would take polearm.
A failed breakway roll does not create a free spin. It's a regular move action, and the rotation you may be allowed is considered to be movement. <Unlimited Rules, page 7>.
If you have Ram (and can spin) you will inflict Ram damage at the end of your movement.
If you rotate you will again take Polearm damage should you remain in their front arc.
None of the quotes you made are relevant, as spinning after failing a breakaway roll is NOT a free spin. A free spin only happens at very specific times in the game, namely:
When an opposing figure is placed on the battlefield touching your warrior, or
When an opposing figure ends its movement in base contact with your warrior, or
When an opposing figure in base contact changes its facing at any time other than a free spin.
Spinning after failing a breakaway is not a free spin, therefore it meets the game definition of movement, and anything that triggers when that figure moves will trigger. Ram will work for it, and any figures touching it can do Polearm damage again.
