Solonavi Tormentor is the best(in my opnion) with a 14' flight movement it can base anything without bound and it won't get shot at. Even if it gets shot at it has an 18 def w/ dodge which can be anonoying( I dodged an 8 click shot last tourny *evil grin*) Once you base it has venom for 9 clicks plus a pretty good att and dam. Do not push her though! They only time you push her is if the game is in the balance or an oppertunity comes that you cann't pass up.
Easiest tactic is to have a Windminion, like 2 Warrior Sprites*, and a mix between 2 Centaur Lieutenants*** and a Centaur Champion (or all three). If they base your minion, the Centaurs kill it, and the Sprites and minion move up.
Sorry but how many points are we talking about for a army? Cause with ur strat ur tying up alotta points on the assumption that the majority of the amries u face you be range armies. Maybe that is true at ur venue and hate amries are viable, but me I like to make armies that are kinda swissess and so include the tormentor in them to help deal with range surperior foes.
I'd say it's about 300-400 points.But it is a good idea(even if it's overpirced.)How about you try this:

I generally play my stormie with charge, and sometimes bound support. once someone tried to use a nightwitch as a blocker... my heavy lancers (charge support) charged and killed it, giving my stormie a free shot at there attacking formation.
yes, i also use the same tactics. since i luv KI, dats wat i rili do in situation against 14 ranged figs. or maybe harras the formation with a * light cav or * light lancer since it has 7" charge.
