Titans and regular figures can free spin because their bases are round, therefore the centerdot never moves they just pivot. They will therefore always remain in contact with the figure that based them.
This is not a proven theory, but just what I have come up with!
proven theory or not, that is the best way to explain it.
along with assasin mag... then in rebellion.. they tend to make charge-like attacks too! ack!
I'm sure most people feel it is 'silly' for a cannon or catapult to make a 'charge-like' attack.. but the reason that they can (at least I think it is the reason).. is because they are in the 'titan' category, and the giants and such would certainly be able to run up and swing.. the living ballista thing also looks like it could move before shooting.
The problem is that a cannon (catapult.. whatever) does the same damage/attack in close as they do at range. if the cannon is firing at point blank to a figure, that would do a TON more damage than if it is lobbed to max range. on the other hand, if the cannon crew is actually doing the attacking, then why doesn't the general put that crew on the field and put some scrubs to work the cannons?
Probably these can be answered just by saying that WK wanted to keep the game as simplistic as they could in the places that they could.
