All range attacks are resolved against the sides whose arc they pass through on the way to the center dot. So MB does not allow you to choose which side to hit. However if you attack a side with three skulls showing then you decide where the attack is resolved.

pps remember we are playing sealed booster this weekend so you will need 23.50 for entry feees. Also we will be starting at 11am.
use terrain and the potbellies to try to limit his attacks. go after a wing if you can to slow it down a little. send out some bait and pounce after he pushes worms would be good for this maybe. Be sure to push against the dragon.
As a general rule, kill the support figures first.

So overall I think this army is good (does anyone disagree? If so, speak out!). Now I would like it if you fellow realmers would post armies that are not hate style, but would give this army an amount of trouble that is worth notice so we can put our heads together and figure out how to beat it (like said before, lets try not alter the army build).
Now that minions is out, who thinks I should replace form. 2 with several shadows? This way I would be nearly immune to all big range armies (such as the Amazon Draconum) as my shadows limit even more what you can shoot, while my Lich moves in to kill the Big Guns and the Scorpem Gunner takes out support (technomancers). Also, the shadows can act as body-guards when form. 1 is based by those pesky rammers and swarms.
Also, this eliminates the specialization form. 2 once had with venom, allowing me to effectively fight the gfd and those possesing toughness.
Well, nightspawn, those armies seem threatening enough. But if I did add 2* shadows as loners, added a ** to form. 1 and took out form. 2 I could counter attack and at least do some damage. I know everyone is asking this question, so let me ask it also: how the heck are you supposed to beat these chariot armies!? By my Cat, there MUST be a way!

defeating chariots is a matter of manueverability,BOUNDing figures try to shoot out a side(10attack/3 damage unicorns or sislith trackers are my prefered attacker)--If chariot bases them just break away and shoot with others also having a charger around helps(unicorn blade-7 move and weaponmastery)Hit and run to weaken chariot and every third hit should do damage to passenger(more if you get lucky)still remember the guys face when I critical hit with charger and rolled 6w/WM(7 damage) and then a 5 for carry through to passenger(7 more damage)
You have to limit the exposure of your figs to chariot and the sweeper inside--alternatively you can try to shoot out front of KI chariot but it will take 2 turns--take the 2 shots and push if needed to shoot one more time(your other fig is probably based and will need to break so you can shoot)If KI chariot loses its front end,game should be over now that you can easily outmanuever it and shoot at will--charger will move in and clean up
paul.. I mean you can use my solvani for your army, not buy them. I am not sure i would sell mine at any cost, i really want to get them all. But you are free to use any of my figures anytime for your armies (i trust you will be very careful with them of course) i have a huge collection, let me know what you need and i probably have it,

will40k-maybe you didn't realize this, but I have different figures than serve the same purpose as the ones suggested (unicorns/trackers=Scorpem Gunner, Bladesman=Shadow). Maybe you didn't those parts, or maybe you just don't like the ones I have now. If the latter proves true, it would be great if you show me why I should change them. Also, thanks for the strategy on the chariot!
Mat- sorry, but for some reason my mind interpreted borrow as buy. I'm thinking I would either like to borrow the Tormentor or the Striker (just for fun). I probably will not attend the conquest session. Also, do you have any E@A or Standard Bearers to trade or sell?
trackers and blades aren't the same as shadows and gunners for chariot purposes--remember speed and manueverability--unicorns move 7 doubled to 14,scorpum moves 5 and shadow?--LI and battle armor are better special abilities if you are being shot at but as you know most chariots aren't sitting around shooting--defend and WM are more important in close combat --also unicorns have regeneration after 4 clicks so could heal themselves if needed(got to make a roll)
will40k-remember that although the Tracker moves farther than the Gunner, they have has an equal range value (15) and the Tracker will stay with the Lich to be yo-yo'd anyway, so the excess speed is wasted. Also, the Gunner is effectively my only means against swarms and other formations with a glass jawed figure that loses its ability after 1 click (F/L). Next, the Bladesman is only one figure for alot of points that has an indefinite dmg. value (could be 7 dmg, but could be 1), where instead I could get two shadows for a gaurenteed 4+ dmg and have at least 2 figs gaurding my back depending if one was based or not. For another thing, I will not be able to block range as well without the Shadows. And one last thing, I already have a 16 defend and having any more would also be a waste. Thanks for posting!!!
mounted figs also break on a 2-6 and could do shake off damage
I agree with the scorpum because I use them all the time and for the reason you list---but a chariot will try to base the lich and no more magic blasting--swarms will go after 1 fig at a time and will probably use LI figs to get close without soaking damage and may go after your chargers first
Against shooting /range armies I think your army will be very successful but I'm not convinced of it's melee ability or action usage since there are no formations, forcing all pieces to move seperately
A 300 pt army against a GFD will need the LI figs and charge will come in handy but again 3 actions byGFD are move w/2 sides attack w/head for 6--if based they break and shoot ,spin and hit with a different side(if one is weakened)The general problem is almost everything is in range and none want to take a 6 damage hit or multiple F/L hits at 10"--ALWAYS hit sides if there is a choice since this slows dragon's move and are the easiest to reach skulls
Against GFD lich/scorpum combo.is not very effective since dragon can base one and possibly shoot the other--pierce becomes the big ability against dragons since invul. and toughness have no effect

I also had a new army idea: what if I took out the ***Gunner and put in a **War Hatchetkrugg for a long-range Ram and upraged my bodygaurds to **, and replaced a *Potbelly with a **Crystal Protector. It would then look like this:
paul- we missed you yesterday. Four new people showed up, it was really fun. It was funny cause four of our regualrs weren't there (you, tyler, JJ and Isaac) so i think we have some new converts.
Just wanted to let you know what the events are next week. Starting at 11 we will run the first orc raiders versus knights campaign. 200 point army, no MDF, or titans and you must have at least one figure from the side you are fighting for. Then for our head to head in the afternoon we are going to try a 400 point, like you suggested.
should be fun. Standard $3.50 each and some great new prizes.
