well....the figure is actually a main melee figure for the orc's...the 3 damage doesn't metter.....what would you call the axe knight (with only 3 damage) a support figure or a melee figure......
Originally posted by Jrakedanecro hmmm you all complain about its low chance for break away, so why not just yo-yo him back? im sure you might have thought of this before, but you do a great job at hiding that fact. and besides, he isnt meant as much to be a rammer as he is to be a melee fig that just has ram for flavor.
He does do more then 3 damage, a 180 arc means he can touch 4 figures. With Ram that is an automatic 4 damage, 1 on each figure. Next turn push and hit all 4 for 3 damage each 4*3=12. Now you have just done 16 damage in 2 turns. If you hit him hard enough he can get a second wind and smack you again for 3 damage.

My post was simply a bit of siolence and disappointment from the orc monkeys comments. Telling me that my post was worthless only displays your rudeness and lack of thought when making responses. In truth it was your post, that was off topic, rude, malicious, and made without even considering the message behind the post that could be considered worthless. If you wish to continue your bitterness with my post feel free to contact an admin or mod. Otherwise I ask of you to stop comenting about a persons post unless you have full realization of there message and to not hold any pent up agression over the matter.
Getting back on topic, Hawks, you have an excellent point. You have to use the guy right. He's a pretty new concept, minotaur aside. Heck, follow the first example and lev him into place (once or twice) and you won't even have to push to sweep. In three turns you could, in theory, eliminate an entire formation.
1) Lev to ram three or four figs, lev to ram 'em again, lev to ram 'em again (assuming 300 points here). Three clicks each so far.
2) Whack 'em, all for 3. We're up to six clicks. Who's going to smack back hard after that? An E@A? I don't think so. He's going to whimper like a baby.
3) Push and finish them off. Nice work.
I realize this is pretty far out there. I would say in most cases you would be lucky to get two rams in the first action, but you could easily get one. And if you've got the pressure on in other areas your opponent may be hard pressed to respond. This is a viable tactic, not a primary tactic, but decent support, especially if you have relatively stationary ranged attackers who are going to be based to be neutralized.
In conquest, I could see three * Technos in formation, the slayer and three other orcs in formation, and these guys doing a good job of keeping your backfield safe from nasties, especially swarms of elven nasties. Plus you've got the command roll. Heck, the dude's only 55 points!
Now let's stop being petty and talk about the topic. Sheesh, the attitudes around here! Oi! How are we supposed to talk about new ideas if no one is ready to listen. The first thing that happened on this thread was Orcmonkey suggest a use for this new unique, and the response? ML/Yo-yo is better. Maybe if you'd open your ears you'd learn something! Or you can go back to your boring Amazon Drac army, and go post somewhere else. :o Just don't complain when you get Slayed at the next conquest tournament!
TalinXT, i am sorry if i misconstrued the purpose of your post. that was entirely my fault, perhaps in the future you could have a bit more verbal way of expressing yourself, and maybe not bite a person's head off because they made a mistake.
my god it must be that time of month for like everyone. just chill out. from just looking at this figures base stats, i immediatly thought levitation. it has two things almost every lev armie needs, ram and command. Personaly i think that the sweep is just an added bonus, even tho its only three damage it could be devistating after a few clicks of ram. now lets just all get over our selves and think of the possibilitys.
I think the likelyhood of someone leaving a formation of 3 figs in a perfect U shape for a ML sweep fig is pretty small. Maybe a left over melee formation, or a newbie with a death wish. Most cases you would only meet up with 2 figs.

most versions of a perfect death star have a U hole in them....(main attacker + 2 enchanters)

I'll agree with that, I guess. There are still many instances where you'll see this crop up. Take the setup in this army, for example. The three technomancers, after the fling, are ripe. Like I said, this is not as much a moving forward deal as it is a hanging back defending deal. So if a fig gets swarmed, you break it, and then there's your U shape!
Besides, two figs work fine for me. Heck, I'm just glad we stopped bickering and are talking about the figure! ;-)
