but he hasn't yet. so i'd like to volunteer an answer. i hope no one thinks i'm being rude.
Solonavi Striker vs. Dwarven Stomper
first, the Stomper is cheaper. it's only 94pts. that gives you 18 more points to play with.
second, the Stomper's first slot attack and defense stats are awesome. that's 13 attack and 19 defense with toughness. if the Striker and the Stomper were within range of each other, the Striker would need a seven to hit the Stomper. the Stomper would only need a five to hit the Striker.
third, with Jess Blacklock as a blocker, you can't use the Striker's speed to its full potential. with the Stomper, though, you can.
i am not saying that the Stomper is superior to the Striker
it has its weaknesses. for instance, its stats consistently go down as it receives damage. however, it is still a solid figure that is worth considering. used and supported well, the Dwarven Stomper can be a monster -- a real force to reckon with.
Um... Wow. A lot of that stuff you quoted was misunderstood.
Ram Armies: Ok, right, big problem for LI, gotcha. I wasnt being nasty about it, I'm just sick of hearing about them. Everyone knows the second you make an army someone's gonna pop up and say 'My ML/Ram could beat that easy!' Well super then. So that means we just assume if it cant kill ML/Ram it's useless? What ELSE is a problem for it? How can you STOP ML/Ram with this formation? Is there a way to improve the army to deal with ML/RAM? Etc. This wasnt at YOU, Billybob, this was rather a broad statement at EVERYONE's reaction to a new army.
Healing: Uuuuh... assuming someones DUMB enough to leave their rammer around, then yes, you would, but why? Just attack and kill the thing and then worry about healing. And I didnt mean truly automatically. Barber's attack is high enough that you can heal Sham-rin by rolling only 1 die. And I didnt mean he heals three clicks because that's his damage. Three is half of 6, as in the die we all roll. It was just a mean number. I meant he COULD heal those pathetic three clicks with his high attack. How often do you roll to heal and get a 1 or 2? Almost never for me.
Toughness: Yes it WAS a hasty assumption, thank you for noticing. So was the idea that a ram army would do well against this army.
Autumn and Bounders: No, not a yo-yo, a way to bound out, and perhaps fire if you can, or if you cant, send him out another 10 inches and start picking them off the next few turns. Why the heck would you yo-yo against technomancers? And if you have barber enhancing Jess, you need someone to heal him if he takes damage. Autumn would work fine.
Army build: Ok, so it's one big chunky formation. it's also pretty mean, and it's about half of a 300 point army. I assume since he called it a Jess Blacklock army, the army would focus around... Jess?! Sorry for keeping with the plot, there. Paying attention happens sometimes.
Thanks for being rude because you didnt understand. Some people call these things 'hasty assumptions'.
And Chazbo, it depends on how you want to deal with other armies. The striker has a good, pushable dial, and the stomper would slap aside a lot of figures and take a walk on their graves. If you're gonna handle ram armies, go with the striker and a MLer to pick off the opponent's MLing figs. Just bury the striker deep into the battle field and pick them off if you can. If you want to deal with the ram pieces themselves, or the main harassers, I'd go with the stomper.

no said, 'My ML/Ram could beat that easy,' in this thread. and no one said that if any army can't kill ML/Ram then it's useless. actually, i was talking about rammers (plural). so no one started talking about ML/Ram until you did. the basic gist of my point on RAM was that Jess Blacklock has one LI slot. if he is rammed once, then he loses LI. base him with another ram fig, and he loses Vamp. i didn't give any suggestions on how to stop ML/RAM. i gave a suggestion on how to discourage rammers. it was to put in a charger.
also, even if i had an ML/Ram army (which i don't), i wouldn't say, 'My ML/Ram could beat that easy!' and i doubt, if a lot of people say that. they'd surely get a lot of flack for being so boastful.
and, if you hate ML/Ram so much, post something in Borg's thread about limiting it.

again you're assuming that i was talking about the ML/Ram engine you hate so much. but if you re-read that post, you'd see that i said rammers. which means that there's at least two of them. kill one and there's at least one left.

you were the one who said, "automatically."

yet another hasty assumption. i said nothing about a ram army doing well against this army. i said he should prepare for ram armies. i didn't they'd do well against this army. re-read that post. i said something like, it depends on the armies, the strategies and luck.

ok, that, i'd have to admit, i didn't understand.

well, i never said anything about taking out Jess. and just because it's called a Jess Blacklock army i doesn't mean that his formation has to eat up most of the points. it can still be a Jess Blacklock army even if he's a loner. so long as a lot figs support him, then it can still be called a Jess Blacklock army.

you should try to pay attention more. it would help you catch all the times i said rammers (plural) instead or rammer (singular). in this paragraph, yes, i am being rude.
i won't thank you for being rude. i don't want to act two-faced. i'm just going to repeat the last two sentences in that old post. i hope you understand. peace, man! :D
now if you want to make something more out of this, i suggest you either PM me with all your reactions, or you start a new thread (or something).
