Originally posted by Wilde Chaos This is not true. You are thinking of MDF's, though I do admit that the titans are big enough to walk over figure if they weren't glue to the their bases. ;)
Actually, Titans DO ignore figure bases. They can just walk through your formations as if they did not exist.
Now then, in order to beat the Cyclops, try using HOSTs. With the indirect its going to be a 10 to hit the beast, but eventually you will hit.
You can also try basing it with an IRHG or have some enhanced F/L to take out his screen. Another thing to remember is that if you base his Cyclops with multiple figs of the same faction, a formation attack will make his Cyclops a very unhappy camper.
Actually TITANS with 2 range values (OST or Mortar, for example) can use indirect fire to hit otherwise "blocked" figs. I'm not sure if the IRHG has two range values.
Titans can also use double range on other Titans but the view has to be clear (unless indirect fire is possible)

Really? Where in the rules is that? I have gone over the rules for Titans 3 times now, search through all the rules and warlord threads on the issue, and even talk to a few people to see if I missed anything.
Nowhere is it mentioned that Titans can ignore other single-dial figures. In fact, MDF's can ignore Titans themselves, since Titans are considered single-dial.
If you can tell me where it is reference, I would greatly appericate it. I could then spread the word in my area about it.
put Amazon Queen behind a bunch of Khamsin snipers, she can MB, if they have a clear line of sight, so it would be 16 Attack (12+4) for 5-10 (D6 +4) Damage!! Even Khamsin Fusers with a Steamer or Dwarven Stomper make for a great formation. Or use Quickness to base that thing with a bunch of Mancatchers, 5 reds in formation have an Attack of 16 and Damage of 6, Cyclops can only attack one of them every other turn (unless it wants to damage itself by pushing) or it can Ram all of them every other turn, but after even 2 Rams, Attack of 14 and Damage of 6!!! So send those ladies after that big green stud.
Aamzon Drac all by herself is a Cyclops killer, just roll a 7 or better (which you will %58+ of the time)
Also, any formation with Mountain King, Huntress or Jarl will also cripple the green beastie. If I was going BPR vs. Orc I'd make sure to have a few Dawarven Rams to ram any gobbo volunteers or gobbo archers that the Orc player might have to protect his Cyclops, also, the Rams will later help you bring down any stonethrowers

I hadn't thought of this one! Cool. You could also use a low wall or hindering to protect them from other attacks, and you could ignore the terrain because of the MB! AWESOME!!
Unfortunately, I believe Wilde Chaos is correct on this one. I checked and under mdf rules it specifies they can ignore single dial based figures, but in the Titan rules, there is no such statement. The statement for Titans is that they are affected like all other warriors unless otherwise specified. Since it is not specified then they must not be able to ignore bases. The July 2002 E&R also did not have anything to say (except to reiterate the titan rules).
I tried to check before posting, but the PC I was using did not have Acrobat Reader installed. I appologize for any confusion I have caused.
I've actually posted on the MageKnight site, awaiting a reply... everyone I know plays the Titans as though they can walkover bases... would be stupid to find Gilly and the IRHG and DBOC cannot ignore figure bases....
I think the Problem is in it's single-dial. I guess all those little guys would hurt the Giants feet, and it would be pretty hard to roll a catapult through enemy figures. The Dragons on the other hand can fly over, and the Chariots and Tanks would just roll over figures. :)
and the giants? Its silly that a Giant can't step over an imp... still waiting on that answer... but if it is the case.. looks like I'll need a change of tactics...
You can double base him and hit him for 16 da! Of course it is lowered to 14 due to toughness but that still maims it. I have played Dragons versus Titans in battles many times and watched even more. If two equally skilled players go head to head the Titan will always fall to the Dragon. I have played in soooooo many conquest games and never have I come close to losing to a Titan.
I would go with cayapults, they can shoot over any blocking figs or terran and can use double range against him.
