I think it is reasonable for it to heal itself 3-4 clicks, if it is only doing one damage. Maybe no damage, the big heal, and place an action token instead. hmm...

Yes, Vladd and many of the Vampires would get better if you could heal up yourself by your damage value. However, it would fix WizKid's problem of putting Vampirism on Berserk slots (See Darq).
Oh! I heal myself out of one of my best slots! *Sigh* Into one of my worst. Now it's more like "Man, that was good. Five clicks healed!"
I agree with Vinstrom_88's idea. You heal half (round down) of the damage you inflicted. I think it would keep the SA simple and balanced while making it more attractive to use.
As for healing as much damage as you deal (which would be nice), WizKids stated a long time ago that this is how vamperism started back in the play testing for rebellion and that it was way too powerful. Vladd just couldn't be killed (not that that's bad :) ) So they changed it to keep balance.
Personally, I don't like the idea where you sacrifice damage for healing, mainly because it doesn't make sense to how a vampire functions. The more blood a vampire drinks, the better off it is. So to heal more, it has to do more damage. That healing has to come from somewhere, namely the victims.
WOW! That's some pretty impressive numbers for #2. I personally think that would make it far too strong, but there's no doubt it's what the majority thinks would make the ability most balanced and playable.
I agree with number 2 and with some of the ideas about distributing damage between healing and damage.
I don't if it would make it far too strong b/c its not like most figures with bound or other abilities how they start with it right away. Some figures only have vamp. for a couple of clicks so the figure may skip right over vamp. all together.
It may help the Necro fans (like me) have something to be happy about and maybe we wont see as many posts about how bad necro is becoming. It would also add to more people playing melee armies maybe.
But also on another hand it could turn out with Vladd/Darq's everywhere and we'll have another A drac on our hands....
i like the idea of dealing no damage also, but being able to place an action token on the enemy. thus preventing the enemy to attack back. isnt that great!
at first i liked the idea of ehaling as much damage as you do, but then i thought back to how long i can keep the order of vlaad alive with his good damage and near pepetual vampirism. i fought a troll knight with him and won. only doing one click to it would do nothing cause of toughness, and with the troll knights defense never decreasing, but vlaads is, vlaad would lose.
