1. Oppenet fires at one of your warriors. The oppenets warrior has the wand combat icon.
2. Using the wand, the attack is REDIRECTED to the warrior holding the wand. However, the attack MUST BE LEGAL. Thus, if your warrior is MAgicaly immune and the attack was a mage blast you CANNOT redirect it to your warrior holding the rod. However, if the attack was a normal wand blast you may.
3. Treat the warrior holding the rod exactly as if the opposing warrior was targeting that warrior.
4. Roll attacks, if it hits, the unit holding the wand get the full burnt of the attack.
this is a stupid relic thats seems way to avoidable.thats just my opinion, why would they take the useless shot and not just base the person,or if they cant do that, who cares just take the shot against the guy with the big rod. i can see this getting used in games with special rules, where one guy has to escape from the field but other than that..ah i dont know.
I also cannot see why the wielder cannot have spell resistance. It seems like that is ok. highkzar, you might not want to base with the wand figure, they cannot surge and are usually weak in close combat. Further, this relic enables you to offer protection to one of your weaker warriors. It is sort of like a specific version of defend that works without havng to be in base contact with the defend figure. You now can have multiple figures that essentially have a high defense against magic attacks; that would give you a real advantage in a battle between wand figures. You indicate that it is avoidable but that is a good thing. Any time your opponent declines to attack is a plus.
There is nothing ILLEGAL about targeting a magic immune figure with a magic or mage blast. It simply will result in no damage, just like targeting an invulnerable figure with a 2 damage figure. Maybe this is a moot point since at least initially, magic immunity will be a 1.0 ability only. Wait, is the wand/shield equal to old magic immunity? Is that out yet? I don't feel like looking it up.
Yes, that's the Atlantis subfaction. And it would work well with Spell Resistance... Resistance lowers the attack, the relic increases defense... two different modifiers for two different numbers, so the rule of three shouldn't apply
Another thing to point out is the wielder of the Attractor also has to be in legal range for the wand attack in order for it to work. So if a figure with 12" range does a wand attack against one of your figures, if the unique holding the Attractor is 14" away it wont redirect the attack.
nothing exciting. how can you expect this to happen more than once in a game, and would it really change the outcome? spend 10 more points and get a relic that is more versitile.
Depending on the situation, this relic could be useful. If your opponent is packing a lot of :wand: warriors, you can direct them all at your high defense unique. This is kinda like Celes's Runic Blade from Final Fantasy VI.
Yeah, the attack would still have to be legal, so no Ghostform guys or warriors with the :mi: defense type.
