I come to this website to learn about MK and NOT about other games.
I came to this thread because I'm interested in ideas for promoting local groups. This is an important topic and has applicatios for both MK and other games that Realmers play. Does anyone else have any good ideas?
I've tried running demos at my venue. But sadly, everyone who would consider a CMG are already absorbed by Heroclix and Mechwarrior, with older players focusing on Warhammer 40K. I'll try your suggestions, because right now, I'm currently the only one at my venue who actually buys and collects MK seriously.
P.S. Does anyone here live near Mandeville, LA? I play at Gamer's Conclave. If you do, please PM me unless I already know you.
Within a week of placing the labels on MK products at my venue, I demo'd the game to 5-6 individuals who previously didn't know of MK.
A father and his two sons have since become regulars at our events. Our last Tuesday night storyline event had 15 players, with 5-6 of our adult players not being able to make it.
The venue and the group are pleased with the results.
I don't have much to contribute but there is a site called "www.meetup.com" and its only got a total of 16 mk players worldwide signed up
it could either that its not a popular site or that many of us are lazy. The point of meetup is to make a meetup date for all mk players in your area. This could help cuz at theese
meetups you could advertise for your local groups.Since many people who visit the site are probly looking for venues to play in.
If any one else has a better site like meetup to go to you can PM me or just post it
Some folks are getting together for some play at the School of Comics in Baton Rouge, 2 PM this Saturday the 22...all who can make it, come. It's on Jefferson Highway between Claycut and Government.
Bumping this thread 'cause it's such an easy way to recruit to your local venue/Battlegroup (I hate to type 'playgroup' since that's where my 2 year old goes, and my wife snickers when I say it.).
I recommend an email listing on the label, and a link to MKRealms also!
