All my figs are broken off the bases thansk to my little brother. I just play with the bases and about 10 diffrent colors of tokens.
I sometimes leave them on figures and forgett to take them off. Everyone gets mad at me sometimes but I think it is funny that they have trouble playing me when they see I have an army of empty bases especially when i forget my tokens.
Why not play him the way he plays you? If he's not taking pushing damage then you are not going to either! If he starts complaining, the medicine just started its effect:D
Of course I would recommend you get "in cahoot" with your warlord on this first:p
We use this strategy to deal with errant "veteran players" at our venue.
lol, unfortunatly i am going to miss our wensday game night this week, (overtime is worth more than gaming time) so i will have to see what happens on tuesday.
I think you need to have a talk with your warlord about this. I don't think he should be allowed to play that way. Pennies, rocks or little wads of paper will work as tokens. There is no reason why he couldn't use something... unless he's up to something.
My personal methodology is to use 2 types of tokens. I alternate between them each turn. If a fig has one of each, it is pushed. I know if I'm using token "A" that token "B" clears at the end of my turn.

Call me anal, but I get annoyed when players do that (use one token of each color to inidcate pushed). I always make them take off the old color and use two tokens of the current round color. Why? Because one token of each color is ambiguous. It does not accurately indicate when the figure actually pushed. Two color/types of tokens is on the right track, but make sure to use them in a clear and unambiguous fashion.
