you are allowed to use impale with both attacks from pike as it is technicall not a special ability like thunderblow or weapon master, but a proficiency. so you would do 3 (damage) + 2 (impale) for 5 twice then the dragon would hit for 3. 13 damage assuming all the attacks hit. Throw in bracers of the giant and do 15 damage. overkill, party of 15, your table is ready.

Nevermind the fact that the army is illegal for Holding the Line as that scenario requires either 3 Elven Lords or 3 Dark Crusaders

That entire army is based upon cheap figs so one unique/LE that out points each of the figs in the army plus a Blade of Dominance and the army is history. Take Trix for instance the 156 pts easily outpoints each fig in the army.

This army would do just fine against Nepherea and crew

The Nepherea combo is tough to top, and 150 points of support is more than enough.

i got a question why does it have to be sky dragona dn the pike?

Granted, Avatars are not played in senarios but if you are playing a higher point contest and want some fun.

War with hammer and bracers

It is 18. Normal Damage first attack of 6, with crushing blow from bracers, oh and sweep.

2nd Attack would be 6 w/o sweep because you can not use special abilities.

3rd Attack with mount 3 damage + Thunderblow and sweep. Total 6.

Played with combo in a 500 point. it ate up 376 points (or close to that) but took out 5 figures in two turns. Evened the odds.

You also need disruptor for this combo.

Actually if I remember right impale is only against a single target, so you can't sweep impale.

That is correct so you can do 6 to one fig or 4 to all figs in base contact w/arc. In the first attack, but since Hammer says you have to use it on one figure you would have to designate which fig. was primary, or could you not use hammer with sweep?

I believe that because sweep says when you make a close combat action you could designate a target for impale and still use sweep. Just not against all figs.

I never said what I presented could not be countered. What I was pointing out was that the combo everyone was raving about is easily countered. Yes the Nepherea combo is tough but the combo that was presented had 2 flaws

1: BoD could make mincemeat out of it due to the fact that is had no ranged figs

2: It was illegal for the scenario.

Wow I really did not mean to cause so much trouble, though I have corrected my mistake and devised a new team that I rather enjoy. Let me know what you guys think. I really was not going for a range team.
