DBlizzard, thanks for the information! zephon_s774, I thought the same thing. How are we going to fit all of these cool things in our 300 point armies? :) This looks great though.
ok i dont understand this nature's fury
sounds to me to not be that cool. you have to basically roll lower than you damage value to use you Attack Bonus(if you have one)

someone to help me with this
Say one of the Storm Druids has the wand attack type (I'm assuming a majority of these subfactions of this set are wand attack types). If it makes a close combat attack, it can use the roll to use its wand attack bonus for ithe close combat attack.
I think its also possible it was intended that if you make the roll with a wand attack type, you count the attack bonus twice. This might not even be subject to the rule of 3 because it's an attack bonus.
I think natures fury adds ur bonus first then u roll to see if you can use it again!!! like if your bonus is 4 on a rider you get +8 if you roll/roll under a 1 or a 2. Thats CRAZY!

Gotta call shenanigans on this one. Riders can't use subfaction abilities when part of cav unit.
But on the flipside, think of a five damage close-combat beast that has a low attack and beefy bonus. That could be cheaper than normal, but with a deceptively excellent attack.
"When this warrior is given a close or ranged combat action, roll one six-sided die. If the result is less than or equal to its unmodified damage value, add its attack bonus (if any) to the attack"
to me this means, if it has wand type attack and +2 bonus, if you make a close combat attack you then roll to see if you can use that bonus. I do not see you rolling if you used a wand attack and then stacking it...
Also, let's say a close combat type had an attack bonus of +2, but was wielding Dragonfly...when you make the ranged attack you would roll to see if you could apply your +2 to the ranged attack.
I think it's worded pretty poorly though, if that's the final wording. If it means what I think, better wording might be:
"When this warrior is given a close or ranged combat action that would not permit the use of its attack bonus (if any), roll one six-sided die. If the result is less than or equal to its unmodified damage value, add its attack bonus (if any) to the attack."
My favorite thing here happens to be the Bounty Hunters being the Order of the 9th Circle. The chase figures are Mage Spawn. Imagine how powerful these guys will be and they're Summon friendly! WHOO HOO!
Originally posted by litedragon I wonder if the Order of the Ninth Circle can travel with 1.0 factions as well, since it says that they can make formations with any faction...?
Why not? They're still factions afterall. If the text reads "This warrior can form a formation with any faction" then that most definately would include 1.0 factions.
It's not broken. It gives wand attack types the chance to use their bonus for close combat maneuvers and increase their chances of hitting somebody with range. Its not broken but its a good ability. besides, we dont know what the others have.:)

I doubt there will be any close combat beast with this subfaction ability in the set. Its for mages.
