WOW!! cool, except for the Orcs...unless they have attacks of 7 or less and HUGE attack bonuses this will ALMOST NEVER be used except in extreme desperation...
Dracs, Solos, DC, even BPR and EF have great ones, why did the Orcs get such a bad one?!?!? why WK WHY???????
Amazing how bad it is...again, unless they have totally suck Attack Values...which also won't make me feel better :(
Originally posted by spike the mage spawn unique will probably be a person with an actual name not a title :( it would be nice to get another lich though
No way man, it is going to be the Wraith. That figure was a staple in major armies (I think the World Champ last year used it). It was an awesome figure that a lot of people were very disappointed to have retired.
Let's see... All of the Oot9C are mercenaries. There will be a "familiar face." He has probably been in a lot of fiction, and probably a lot of recent fiction to boot. Therefore, the 5th normal unique figure for the Oot9C is a figure we know, that is a mercenary, and has been in the recent fiction, thusly the figure must be:
Rayden Marz!
Anyway, if Bloodhawk gets an attack value of 10 then I can see Chaos Shamans becoming the next Revenant:D. Especially if Bloodhawk gets bound or an impressive damage. Also, if some throw away figures (equivelent to the Reckless Marauder) with decent enough attacks and damage can make this into a very deadly ability. We'll just have to see how it is used in the game.
Brain Blast! Why not have an Oacular Codex on the board? Just switch out the dice you roll for the dice from the Oracular Codex (assuming it's below your attack value)? Then agian Oracular codex probably only works on attack rolls... I'll have to re-read it.
Vapor, if Bloodhawk has an Attack of 10, if he uses his sub-faction ability he will die!!!
If the die roll is LESS than his attack value, he takes a click and rolls again!!! with a 10 attack he will die almost every time he uses his ability. He would have to have a stinky 7 or 8 attack to make it even possible, I wouldn't even attempt it with a 9 Attack...
So he has to have a total suck attack and a HUGE attack bonus to be decent. Anything else means he will be worthless...so for any of the Orcs to be good they need super-low attack values...which means they will be REALLY REALLY bad if they get based (only hope is a really weak starting attack ramping up with "Berserk")
Here is a thought also, with the slotted based figures being 61-84 (exactly 24 figures) and the ranks being dropped from 4 to 3 per sculpt, does it seem reasonable to assume that each of the main eight factions (not Apocalypes or Magespawn) will get one figure with three ranks that is on a slotted base? (wow, what a run on sentence, lol) That would make the most sense to get the most out of these magical subfactions.
I agree JgKlaw, they need to clarify this ability big time, maybe they will say we can take a max of 3 damage (rule of 3?) to avoid death or maybe there is another factor that will be understood when we get the actual wording of the ability.
the DC one will be really good in my opinon b/c if there a decent Blood Cultist magic wielder that could wield BoL all you would need is a flesh-eating zombie weak to attack every turn!!!!:D
They had a poll on which 1.0 figure to remake and he won in a landslide. He is also the greatest figure ever made in the history of MK. When they make the 2.0 version of Podo it will be so good it will not even be funny. They will give it Pole Arm and Ghostform even though Pole Arm is not a 2.0 SA, just because he is Podo and he is so awesome. I am guessing also he has become 100 times more powerful than 1.0 Podo, justifying a 300-point cost. It is possible that he will only cost like 230 or so and be not quite as good so you can put relics on him but it does not matter because all your base are belong to Podo.
I was going to say Raydan Marz would be likely to be in this set due to the fact that Bloodhawk is also in the set and they have been chasing each other for a while now, however Raydan isn't a mage, although I still feel that he will be in the set to fight Bloodhawk, also what about Desmonda, she is a mage, I would like to see them both actually but that is me. I felt Raydan would be in the set but not as a mage.
The Orcs can be powerful if they have a low attack with high enough attack bonus, same with the Elementals. It is nice to see that WK is getting some more use out of attack bonuses.
BPR-First the Dwarves have guns, now they have magic. THis just shows why dwarves are so cool. Well that and the beards.
Elves, Atlanteans and Dracs-they are completely dependent on how good the spell mechanics are. But they are the magic factions so it makes sense. wait and see...
Solonavi-wildcarding is incredibly powerful in HC, I don't see why it would be any less so in MK, particularly on the Solonavi
Crusaders-If they make an item spellbook, I will have a good use for the Stick horse and coconut halves(to bad Aederon is a Deathspeaker. wow, never thought I would say that).
Minions of Apocoplyse-destroys swarms and is a cool defend for attack values.
Ninth Circle-I am hoping for a named lich but Rayden is a good guess too.
I swear every time a new set comes out I am on the verge of quitting, but then there is some tidbit that makes me want to hang around - in this case it is the potential to use the stick horse and coconuts and have a Drac flying around with way more spells than he should from way more factions than he should.
Originally posted by Chang1701 I'm assuming that the non uniqe with slots can't carrie Relics of items (though this may have been stated or something, I missed it)
No, it's 99% certain they can wield relics. Otherwise they can't wield spellbooks, therefore they couldn't be sorcerers, and they're there so we can "use as many sorcerers as we want."
It's almost guaranteed that they all have :wand:, too.
Actually, I'm willing to bet that while a lot of the slotted nons will have the :wand:, there will be plenty of nons with slotted bases and other attack types.
Also, a note on the break-downs and LE Distribution: If you assume that there are groups of three, it looks like each faction has one figure that isn't LE-based. And I would guess those are related to pieces 61+.
So that leaves the 20 LEs as the 20 groups of three that are numbers 1-60.
