There's nothing like getting an Overwatch shot in for 4 damages, and then using Technomantic Recall to make the whole "basing" thing totally useless...
Shooting 2 times and Pierce is nice...but its only 2 slots of Bound and you have to get to that second slot...Pierce is great....but 6" less range and 19 points more than Blackguard...I just don't think it is worth it...the 19 points can be better spent...that could be Threadcutter on Tymara os Korgas...curious to what simple way you get Tazia to her second slot???
You can dismount Tazia, double time her (but keep her in base contact with the mount) and then remount next turn. You could also trample your own cavalry unit or use a domain, item or spell that causes 1 damage.
shes DC. the new DC subfaction blood cultists can remove an action token by giving a push damage to an adjacent figure. have one of the new spellcaster blood cultists, i forget which one, cast a spell first turn (for example, give Tazia arcing fire)
then pawn off that token to a damage click for tazia :)
Tazia makes all the other candidates look like children. She's pricey at 146 points total, but well worth it. There are only 5 peices that can survive a full on assault from her incredible 10 dmg. She's soaring. She's impossible to capture. She is VERY fragile, so your opponent has to be careful when attacking her (lest she go boom).
I used to use the dismount-double time trick to get her on her bound click. Sometimes I'll have another Cavalry unit trample her to get that one click right away. As of late, I've been starting her next to a Blood Priestess or Vargana, using the peice to cast a spell first round (arcane sight is my personal favorite atm). I'll waste an action first turn to 'move' a ***blood demon if I have to. By 2nd turn, she's ready to cause some havok.
And who cares that she has a shorter range than blackguard? You can kick her bound range up to 28" with judicious placement of Constructed Terrain (bound, shoot the building, bound again, and shoot some hapless schmoe). If your opponent is relying on one big ranged peice (such as Vithzerai or Khan Rava), and you can arrange first strike, you win. 14 attack hits almost everything, and if you're running into an annoying combination (Chroma w/star shield and magestone bracers) you can point blank for extra accuracy. You might not be able to get in on the first shot, but after 22" of movement, point blank shouldn't be a problem.
Personally, I'd get a tatoo of her if I wasn't worried they'd kill her off and bring in someone even cooler... Nothing is quite so pretty as running Tazia, a pair of Blood priestesses, and a flood of Deathsingers... *shudders with joy* Now THAT'S why MK is the ultimate collectable minature game.
Double-time:Dismount(1 action)...Double-time[color=gold](1 action)[/gold]...next turn...Remount(1 action)...now thats 2 turns and 3 action to take 1 click of damage and your unit is left sitting there in the starting area with a token...not a solid plan in my opinion(<---sarcasm)...
Trample:This is probably by far the best way to go...1 action and it doesn't slow you down if set up right...only problem is that the mount takes a click...of course you could dismount and trample but thats 3 actions and quite a waste...
Siphon Energy:This isn't bad either...but it does mean waiting until 2nd turn before moving her out...I like to get her out right away...give an action to the spell caster with the subfaction ability...wait until next command phase to damage Tazia and then send her up to Soaring...
I'm not saying she isn't good but Blackguard is better in my opinion...the double-time thing is a waste...trample is best option...you trample and then Tazia can fly up and be ready for next turn...the DC subfaction thing is ok...you do an action to get a token...then you can damage Tazia on 2nd turn during command phase...then she can fly up and be ready to do something on 3rd turn...I still believe Blackguard is better point for point...pound for pound...I would like to face you using Tazia...I could use Blackguard and see what happens...lol...too bad we can't unless you have a personal jet and can fly here...I think the only thing we will agree is to disagree...lol...
BTW...all will fall blah blah in your signature...the Draconum will never fall...Chroma w/Magestone Shield would easily crush Tazia and mount without a scratch with her 22 defense...she will take Kaboom damage but she can easily be healed especially since her defense is lower for healing...point cost is about the same too...I would take Chroma anyday over Tazia...only those worthy will kneel before the Draconum and if Tazia hasn't its because she ain't worthy...lol...I'm just teasin...don't take it personal...
Actually, your odds aren't THAT great with Chroma and her silly shield. I could easily get a 15 attack on at least one of the attacks (either rear arc or point blank). That's a 7 to hit. Worst case, I've got one shot at an 8, then one at a 7. That's 4 dmg on Chroma, maybe 5 (depending...) When the boom happens, that's no more Chroma.
Of course, I wouldn't even go near Chroma. I'd use Tazia to wipe your support, and then use my support to tie up Chroma. Tazia kills faster than Chroma does, and once you were down to just the silly dragon lady, I'd just let her rampage around her favorite token whilst I kept myself out of reach.
Of course, who knows how well that'd work... *shrugs* Next time I'm in Canada, I'll head down your way and we can find out ^_^
I welcome the challenge...your scenario is fine if I don't have good figures with Chroma...if I'm stupid and don't know how to play...hmmm...I have lost 1 tournament game in 4 months...I'm 10th in the world...don't think I'm stupid...my sleeves are the size of a Jedi Knight but more like a Sith Lord...don't worry...I'll have plenty up my sleeve for you and your little half dressed girl...I think I'll hang her with that pony tail that must drag on the ground...you know...maybe you should worry more about equipping her with a cloak than Karrudan's Bow...if someone plays Cold Snap she'll get awfully chilly in those strings she wears...she really should wear more clothes..."won't somebody please think of the children!!!"...I think it was reveran Lovejoys wife that always said that...
Black Guard is better. 127 points for it! 2 more range Regen 17 defense makes it the better choice. Tazia does more damage but is dead meat against the simplest guy. Still chroma is dead meat against either. You just keep on Jumping up or down and chroma is slow enough to give a rear arc pointblank shot. That is death. But either combo, preferably Blackguard and it is a good army.
lol... *shrugs* Rankings don't really matter... Tournament wins don't really matter. What matters is... Well, who really cares? It's a game, and it seems like you're getting way too caught up over something silly like this... Either that, or I'm missing the sarcasm in the seeming defensiveness of the post. ^_^
Besides, if Tazia wasn't half naked, what would little boys have to look at while they play?
Post Script: If your post was made in jest, take mine the same way. Likewise, if you're getting cranky over something stupid like this, feel free to assume my post is cranky too. Either way ^_^
Post Post Script: Tazia 1z l33t!!1!1!! 5h3 r0x0rz!!!
Personally, the biggest problem I got with Tazia is the lack of range... Sure, she has her mount to give her all the effective range you want, and she's probably perfect to take out a big unique like Chroma, but if you're facing multiple heavy threats, you're screwed. The reason is that you might be able to cripple 1 or even 2 figs with Bound-MoBound, but the third one will be killing you, and With only 6 inches range, you're gonna be far too easy to reach after with either charge or surge...
