I am suprised no one has listed sigmazero...

As the rules coordinator I believe he is just an average joe who has graciously volunteered his time to try to meld the chaoctic ruleset wizkids has spewed forth into some form of sanity and logic so the rest of us can play this game.

As the forefront of wizkids interface with the players he has to not only deal with the wizkids people but the players as well, often times bearing the brunt of players ( and envoys ) frustrations when wizkids does something stupid ( can anyone say Galactus? ) even when its not in his game line.

there are so so so much I want to say about some guys that I can't remember there login names it is sad to see them gone but for one I like 2.0 and hope that we have no more loss of MK players and now a moument of of no posting in there names (that I forgot)

Well, at least for me I was only naming people that no longer come to the boards. If I were to name current people, Sigma would be at or near the top of my list.

here's my list:

Rulings and all around guy (most people are very hard pressed to even frown at these guys ;)): Sigmazero13, kenntak, Dblizzard and spudkin.

always counted on for hot discussions: Mrdbeau, Hexian, Sentinel007, borg, xanathon (couldn't leave you out buddy ;)), JGKLAW!!! (a big one here), barrel and ArmyC.

those who can almost always be counted on reviving a dead thread: Xanathon, hexian, ArmyC and Mrdbeau.

(I don't know who drake the lesser is so I will have to politely apologize for I believe I joined after his prime).

for humor: Dfazman, xanathon, veradilene, zap.

dedicated projects: the 3FB for their humor army build thread, ArmyC for his well known archetype dictionary (man, I miss that reference), the DHC reviews (led by mrdbeau), Borg's strategy threads (great reads).

MODS: Dblizzard, xany is still green around the gills.... I need to get a few more points from him before I can say he qualifies ;) LOL!!! and to start the process I'll simply say this...."The Cardinals lost!!!! " **dashes at high speed from the forums**:p

honorary mention on hot topics and dicussions: Mago-azul...man he alone was able to rouse the rabble and cause a full scale debate (healthy wise) to occur at will... never ceased to amaze me at what he could do when a good topic came along.

OK time to make my list:

For MK in general:
Draddog and Typhon (for this site) DemoMonkey- the confessions threads and rules in general (did anyone ever find out the meaning of those letters)
DraketheLesser- his rule movies and the consoldated rule book (before WK got paranoid about these things) and general sense of humour.
JFarlander- for trying to redo the rulebook, pity WK will not longer allow it.
Site Moderators- all of you without you this site may be a large mess
Chat Mods- What a job, keeping us in line, but then again I think in chat it has become more or less of you can't beat them then join them as the mods are as bad as the rest of us
LordDjinPawn (sorry I know that that is wrong) and sigmazero13- Ruling in general, it must be a painful job to deal with us all, and it is good to see Sigma hang out of this site and have fun, and even better than no one asks him for rulings while he is here.
Warlords (provided they are good ones)- How else would most of you play?
Lions and Dracs (minus the whole war) in general for their contributoions to rules and figures, yes it belows more to certain member but you know who you are.

In 2002 we did a head count of MK pre 2.0 players that we contacted the year previously in New Zealand & as well as those we spotted at tourneys & (head up'd).400+ loyal kiwis, fast foward to the MK 2.0 release we've lost contact with 95% of the Army. Suppose you can read it lots of ways.

A FLARE goes up to to Soddy he gave me a Gate Lord.

A FLARE UP to PHaT Dave (Pray Hard and Torment), he's annoyed at the 2.0 betrayal/sellout.

A KRA*K up to Handy_Andy, he bought a 2.0 starter, watched us all having a screaming match at an unrestricted event , threw his box on the table after calling us all bunch o' Wa * kers & walked off, Carl dove on the table to grab the box and the table collapsed. You should have seen WW2 & Battle fleet gothic players look. It was a classic, Carl got the boot by the event host.

A KRA*K & FLARE UP combo goes out to CHICKEN_COOL he would flap his arms and say BORK BORK to his opponent/s, It got them every time.
Don't know where he's gone. LATERS.

And an (I don't know why), goes to Dave the Cave, he would crumble into a heap once you took out his heroes. FREUD UPS buddy.

Onto the topic, I've seen a lot of good names mentioned here, and must say that I have to agree with most of those called out.

A few, however, seem to be nothing more than shameless sycophantery, but I'm feeling nice today so we won't get into that. Wouldn't do to get too salty. ;)

A few that deserve just recognition include Kolrael and CMash, who worked their butts off in the early days of the site to make things 'tick', and Druss who picked up the torch from there.

Also props to Balduvian, who made a whopping 3500+ posts, the greatest portion of which were made on the rules forum, helping folks out.

Lots more folks, past and present, deserve accolades here, but I think it's best I should stop here for now. Frankly, thinking about the number of really great people that have come and gone from here, some treated rather ignobly, is rather depressing.

It's been a fun ride, guys. Pity we can't have the 'Good Ole Days' again.

I was digging and found this old thread and thought that I would resurrect it.

For us old timers the Realms have given us a place we could come to keep up on the game we loved, stay in touch with old friends, and make new friends. Without this site I would not have met so many people that I now call a friend.

Stark, for his amazing story-telling ability. If he's not writing for a living, there's a lotta non-MK players out there missing some masterful yarning. And that last chapter of Dark Moon Rising blew me away ;)

And I haven't seen anyone mention Smoth, the Painter-King. Smoth kept the Colors of War section alive. Pity I haven't seen any amazing works lately. How 'bout it, guys? An encore fer both of you, maybe?

I have to say Bruce ParrelloDrake the Lesser) for all the time he gave to the game and for starting MK up in our area if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be playing MK.
