Not that it matters because I basically think the rankings are a load of ####, but my player name is Light&Dark so I'm number 7 on the Orc list.
Why do I think rankings are garbage, lots of fraud...of my 5 losses, only 1 was legit, the other losses were given to me WHEN I DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP!!! ALso, I had changed my player name once. When I did, I was up to 36 or so in the world, WK said my record would go over to my new name, but it never did, so I had to start all over, that's why my ranking is so "low" now...
But anyway Wk is promulgating a system for Warlords that encourages false registrations, so it's not that surprising.
WK, ELIMINATE THE RANKING SYSTEM!!! OR MAKE IT ONLY FROM REGIONAL, NATIONAL, AND WORLD TOURNEYS.
The system sucks for newbies, and again, it has so much fraud in it, it's utterly worthless!
According to the ranking system, I stink like yesterday's garbage. However, I usually play against people who did very well at Nationals (both top 20) and can often beat them. I don't know how anyone can, for example, accumulate like a dozen wins in a row in a venue filled with halfway-decent players.
Be that as it may, I'd think a ladder system would be more meaningful. Calling someone #1 in the world because they can beat someone ranked about 2000, 20 times in a row, is not very meaningful.
I do believe that many of the top-ranked people are very good, but I'd like to know how those rankings are generated.

I believe someone posted that exact formula somewhere on the WizKids forum. Basically, the points you earn for a win or loss are based on a comparison between your rankings.
When I beat a player at my ranking, I get a certain number of points. I get more when I beat a significantly higher ranked player (I forget how many points they'll have to be to increase it a point) and get much less when I beat someone with a lower ranking. It works the opposite for a loss.
In the high 1700's it isn't uncommon to go lose one match in a tournament and end up losing points, even if you beat a higher ranked during the tournament. It's particularly notable in Mage Knight, because almost anyone can beat anyone any day of the week.
If I were to get my mate to warlord our venue and then organise tournaments, I would never lose, not even on a bad day.
Not because I'm particuarly great, but because there aren't any real tournament players near me.
Unfortunately, that is true for a lot of people and makes the rankings a waste of time and why I have never made any efforts to get involved in them.
With respect to all of the guys who travel to venues where they find "Quality" opponents, the rankings don't mean a whole lot.
Last I checked a month or so ago I'd have been in the top 10 world if one of my wins hadn't been recorded as a loss by mistake.
Considering I am not by any stretch one of the top 10 players in the world, just the best player in my area, I don't really consider the ranking system to be of much use for anything :-p
Wow-Im so honored-Im the worst player to make the top 10 list-guess there arent too many Black Powder Revolutionarie players out there. I know Im the only one at my venue who ever touches a BPR fig. I shocked my venue by actually using the Northlanders special ability-no one had ever seen it used. We need some more BPR players out there folks-look at it this way you can make the top of your faction easier! :)
