Originally posted by Oni_penguin A note: Last time I checked, the crown provides +1 attack and damage for wearing it, but not an additional +1 for the BPR enhancement, because a figure cannot be friendly to itself. You might want to check this up, since I haven't been keeping up as much anymore since I no longer have any place to play at regularly.
Here's the Crown...
Quote
All BLACK POWDER REV figures friendly to the wielder get +1 to their attack, damage, and ranged damage values. All opposing BLACK POWDER REV figures get +1 to their attack, damage, and ranged damage values when targeting the wielder with close or ranged combat attacks.
BPR/Sword - 31 pts - +1 Attack - +1 Damage
So while the wearer doesn't get any bonuses from the text, he gets the same bonus himself directly from the crown.
Well, a couple of things I noticed from what people said on this thread:
1: The only way a figure can Submerge is if a player puts down water terrain. The domains will turn everything into water terrain, but you can only be placed into a water terrain feature. It's a similar ruling to the MoM and say Wylden Forest that was made before.
2: Water terrain is NOT hindering terrain. A figure with Pathfinder will not be able to move through water terrain unhindered. Water terrain is a special type of terrain. So a figure with MoM cannot teleport into water terrain.
Those were the main things I noticed on this thread. Some of these things are in the FAQ or on the warlord forum. Continue the conversation, but remember these two things above.
Falderal,
(1)Submerged doesn't say "water terrain feature" just water terrain. MOM states hindering terrain feature. Where was this stated at? Warlord forum or FAQ?
It was in a thread that someone posted in the warlord forum on the Wizkids site. The water terrain feature is what a figure can submerge into. I'll see if I can find the thread.
I'm sorry felderal but when u get the answer straight from Dblizzard himself I'm not gonna question it any further...I posed the idea that Fen Swamp says that all clear terrain becomes shallow water and the submerge special ability says that the warrior with submerge and be deployed in ANY water terrain. so I could basically place them anywhere on the field
Dblizzard then replies...
That is correct. There is a difference between "any water terrain" and "any water terrain feature" (the second is limited to placed terrain).
Submerged says "this warrior can be deployed in any water terrain."
so I'mma play it that way...simple as that...if they nerf that they might was well just blow up submerged figures and bury them with copy's of ET for NES
You're correct. I was mistaken. My apologies. I hate when I get things confused and then I confuse everyone else. However, my second point is still correct! Whoo! I got something right!!!
1) Morathai is a swordtype... but then so is the Thunder Javelin
2) Crown of Khamsin gives a modifier to the wielder, but I think it only applies to his close combat values. And yes, he would not be able to benefit from the BPR bonus.
3) MoM does not use the water terrain as hindering, please refer to the FAQ.
So I still think that my army would be fun to use... I just need a healer for longevity.
Thanks for checking Fal, I would rather you have brought it up then let it go by and I would have to have questioned it during an event. Nothing wrong with trying to help out.
Thanks Miggles for helping us out too. I hate not being able to search-find the answers.
Oh and Fal, Infiltrate is by far almost useless. I agree with you on this point. If they don't fix it your way, they should at least make it "double your move" distance to make it semi useful.
No prob...I do however have an aftertaste in my mouth from trying to play fen swamp and still find out I can just submerge anywhere on the field....and I've yet to think of a truly good combo to put on Capt Onitsha, with no bound or real good range to him he got beaten real badly last night.
I might as well run some death throes/explode undead cheese...thats the only for sure strategy I know everything about. I hate coming into a venue wanting to try something and figure out the hard way it ain't worth it. I tried to get creative about my submerge army and it blew badly and thats without facing the two stronger armies of the night
