Well I find that the malice has a pretty good sculpt to it (body-wise), but if the arms were a bit thicker (menacing) it might be a subtle reminder of the fafnir.
I agree 100%. I took the arms off a Stormhammer Rifleman, (big guns) and put them on while keeping the top Malice rifles on. Looks pretty sweet!
1. Uziel - I'm a CNC/SC player and we have the best one. Of course I love it!
2. Osiris - I'm not too sure why I love it so much. I guess it's cuz there's one called 'Thunderthighs'. Now that's funny right there.
3. Nova Cat - Again, I'm biased. It looks like a friggin' football player with big guns for forearms. He's like, "Man, don't make me zap you!".
Warhammer IIC - The one with the PPC
Rifleman - The one with RAC
Longbow
What? Too old school? I like the Destroids :)
To me these best represent my idea of "realistic" Big Giant Robots. An MBT in the Warhammer. Flak and Supression Fire in the Rifleman. Long Artillery and Fire Support in the Longbow. Now if they only play like that.
and also
Crimson Hawk - so cute (Hear that Nocross, I said cute, In-a-public-forum)
Ok for me it's:
MAD-3R Marauder (unseen) TRO 3025
STK-3F Stalker - TRO 3025
Nova Cat
Don't know why but always thought the Stalker was pretty cool, probably cause the book said pilots like to hide in buildings then crash through walls and shoot mechs in the back.
The Mad Cat and Uziel are both iconic mechs with good damage outputs. The Raptor II and Arbalest are newer but balanced designs.
The "unseen" Marauder and Marauder IIC beats the current version hands down and it can jump! The Orions were Aleksandr and Nicholas Kerensky's mechs. The Jenners remain some of the most dangerous light mechs in the fight. The Hollander gets my vote for most min/maxed design being the lightest mech to mount a gauss rifle.
The new Atlas is so sweet looking. Big, tough and powerful. The old Atlas looked clunky and semi-########.....kinda reminded me of that Cartman pic with the Special Olympics helmet on and the "Der Duh" expression! :D
1- Mad Dog Prime (original)
Dig the 4 pulse laser barrels and twin LRM-20 racks. Plus, it always had that "underdog" feeling when sitting next to a Timber Wolf. Customized, it's my favorite ride ;)
2- Timber Wolf
Must admit, it is a pretty striking icon.
3- Hellbringer
Kind of like a Summoner, but without the freakish shoulder-cockpit. A simple no-nonsense design.
Favorites (MW)
1- Warhammer IIC (4-barrelled version)
The unit I wanted most out of Falcon's Prey, it just looks awesome (even though it looks to be squatting).
2- Battlemaster
The new sculpt is a dead-on improvement over the original IMHO. I finally have one of these babies thanks to the GF9 sets :)
3- Mad Cat II (4-barrelled version with launchers)
I started out collecting from the old sets (I had no knowledge at that time of the difference between AoD and Dark Age) so the prominently displayed white Mad Cat II was one of the units I sought out the most. A definite offshoot of the original Timber Wolf design.
DA/AOD:
Vulture MkIV- it is soo fun to paint one of those
Shen-Yi- I hate Liao but I absolutely love this sculpt
Spider- Falcon's Prey version, I love that big knife
MechWarrior CMG:
-Wulfen: The minute Wolf Strike released, I was trading for Clan Wolf totems. Not only am I a fan of Clan Wolf, most notably under Ulric or Natasha Kerensky or Phelan Kell, but I collect real-life wolf art. These new Robowolves were a must-have. Not only that, but Grey Hunter flippin' rocks.
-Night Stalker: As any who remember my custom-painted Night Stalker would know...I love Night Stalkers. I've always been a fan of lighter 'Mechs in the video games, and this transferred just fine to MW. The Night Stalker just fit. Plus, leaving Jack aside, the Nova cats got the best one by far :p.
-Hitotsune Kozo: I wanted this 'Mech (Black Blade, not Tekken) a week after I started playing MechWarrior, looking for it even though I had no clue what it did. I was pleasantly surprised when Black Blade turned out to be a superb 'Mech as well as one of the best sculpts in the game. Shiros and Rokurokubis are awesome too, but the Hitotsune Kozu just takes it for me.
I'm a fan of anything totemic; Warwolves are bad***es, and my brother's Shrikes, Gyrfalcons, and Eyries are sweet. Anubises and Jaguars, Mk IV's of either type, Stalking Spiders, anything sleek and animalistic. Hm hm, things like the Warhammers and Riflemenare alright, but I want my 'Mechs to look like beasts as much as robots.
Anyways!
Mechwarrior: PC Games:
-MW4: Bushwacker: Also a CBT/TRO pick and quite possibly my favorite 'Mech of all time. I cannot wait for this thing to make it into AoD. I had about a dozen different Bushwacker configurations stored, and I'd won Solaris in MW4: Mercs with at least two of them.
-MW3: Black Hawk/Nova: Also MW2, but I prefer the look of the MW3 model. One of my favorite 'Mechs to pilot, especially in Prime. I like the low-slung, completely nonhumanoid aspects of this and the Bushwacker, they're just so unique and refreshing.
-MW2: Mercs: Catapult: An awesome unit, even if remarkably vulnerable to head shots. I had more Catapult variants in MW2M than I did Bushwacker variants in MW4M. Including ones that would likely have made CBT players cringe and cry to Mommy. I distinctly remember putting eight Inferno SRM 2s next to Clan LRM15s and CER Large Lasers on top of every advanced internal system I could in one Catapult, thing cost more than an Atlas. Was an unreal ride, though.
CBT/TRO:
-Raijin: Alright, show of hands: who's heard of this sucker? No one? Heh, thought so. When Comstar shows up in force in AoD, I'm praying they have at least one Raijin with them. Half Ryoken, half mushroom, and a 'Mech I'd pilot in a heartbeat.
-Bushwacker: My favorite 'Mech image-wise until the Raijin rolled around, everything I said above holds true here.
-Phoenix Hawk IIC (Project Phoenix): Alright, I admit it. The whole jetpack-equipped superhero look on this thing rocks. They butchered the sculpt in AoD, but the images in the project Phoenix book do it far more justice. I can hear Anthem of Braves playing every time I look at that thing...
Vultures. The original, the Mk IV, I just love 'em, have ever since the opening to MW3.
Beyond those bad-boys, I love the Wolf 'Mechs--especially the Wulfen--and the new Atlas. The Uziel's another great looking 'Mech, and there's just something about the Violator that appeals to my inner evil.
You underestimate how many of us are long-time hardcore CBT fans. I wouldn't list the Raijin in my top 100. Too much like a cross between a chicken and a mushroom :cheeky: .
But the ER PPC is nice, especially the few upgraded ones to the Star League era ER PPCs.
