I enjoyed the book, but one thing that bothered me was the seeming infallibility of Kerensky. Everything basically went according to her plans the entire way. She was basically able to do anything she wanted, her plans never went awry, and they always survived contact with the enemy. That's really stretching my suspension of disbelief a little too far.

Go read Wolf Hunters. Kerensky broke all of her ties with the Steal Wolves, taking only the best and most loyal wolves with her to form the Wolf Hunters. She also cross trained all of her troops so that no one would be left weak and powerless on the feild.
Her troops are the best of the best, loyal olny to her and brainwashed to never question an order. Thats how every thing went off with out a problem.

That the most absurd reason, everyone know the more elit and pompous and army ,the more likely plans are going to blow up in your face. It happens in every novel and movie! I Do feel the same way though. I like the wolves of old , and I enjoy Kerensky to a point, but even I was laughing when Crow knocked her mech out in the lightining storm. She doesn't need to be godly in the books, everyone needs to be taken down once in a while.

Does this mean that we'll never stop Anastasia Kerensky without a silver bullet like Ezekiel Crow around to drop her with lightning? :D Just kiddin'.
I get the feeling the she'll get her butt handed to her soon enough. No one ever stays at the top forever. Heck, even Victor was finally taken down. It just took a hundred years... :D
Ok guys.... Alaric wanted Vlad Ward to be his father but the novel never says how he found out Victor was his father. And from the novel he was part of an experiment which brought him to where Katherine was staying and from there she pretty much adopted him and basicly raised him. How she was able to accomplish this is beyond my grasp considering how clanners feel about freebirths and their customs of mother and father.

She didn't have to adopt him because she is his biological mother. It says so right there in the text.
But accord to the text it said that she discovered him on one of the expedition trips to the estate where she was staying and from that point on SHE had him call her mother which is one of the points Alaric makes when it he says it's one of the things that keeps him distant from her, but also states that when he braids her hair it was a bonding experience. She is his gene mother but Alaric is a true born warrior, not freeborn.

There is a reason the quote "no plan ever survives contact with the enemy" is a very famous one - because it's entirely too accurate.
If just one or even two of her plans had gone off precisely - sure, I could deal with it. But things went exactly the way she planned. Every. Single. Time.
It's not even a matter of her winning every time. It's that nothing happened that she didn't anticipate beforehand. There was no adapting of plans due to the unexpected - it was that everything happened precisely as foreseen by Kerensky. That is what I find so unbelieveable.
To be fair, everyone Anastasia faced in Masters of War was a Clanner and those guys aren't exactly known for being unpredictable. With her origin and the inherent conservatism of the Clans and their tactics, it's not terribly surprising she has such a track record of being correct against them.
