- Map & fiction. Our poor scrying chamber and interactive map - where are you now? So much information gone!
I took the liberty of extracting most of the Scrying Chamber stuff prior to it going down using a nifty perl script I wrote.
They are in about 500 little html files that aren't labeled, though. One of these days I need to go through them and get them all compiled into a better format.
Also, I was hoping to start a thread dedicated to recovering all the resources this game has lost:
- Figure gallery and full stats. The stats can at least be obtained by downloading battleplanner and installing the MK patch, but there are no images. The only site I've found anywhere that has anything even halfway close to the full image set is ############.com's catalogue (they're only missing a handful of pics, and those that are missing they at least took photos to replace. Of course, in some cases all figures are shown with a single 'weak' or 'standard' pic, but that'll do at least).
there complete figure pic for battleplanner on this site
www.boardgamegeek.com has the 1.0 and 2.0 figure cost calculations and some of the old 3d terrain.
the internet archive has the old site via 'the way back machine'. I'm gonna see what i can harvest out of there and share with all of you guys. I'm hoping HTTrack can do somthing with it. :)

I was actually going to suggest that. I used it alot towards the begining of nexus to learn more about the game and its history. Tis nostalgic.
we'll, the internet archive seems to be going really slow today. i see the pages there, but i don't think it has any images or any of the combat dials, just the Raw HTML. I'll have to keep checking it out though....
I'm assuming battle planner and the like have all the combat dial info in them? I'm just as concerned about recreating the game and allowing access to the core figs, rules, etc as i am about preserving the history of the MK story.
As far as I can tell, the Battle Planner stats are complete. I think some of the Styrene have some issues (especially with faction-related stuff), but the figures have looked OK.
well, the internet archive looks like a great source for some stuff. I think i can harvest all the PDF documents out of it....so all the 3d terrain, senairos, etc that are PDF can be saved.
I can also save the text on the site from all the storyline events, etc....but it looks like i can't get the interactive map or the scrying chamber...and while i can get a list of figures there are no images or combat dial stats yet.
I'll start downloading the PDF's when i have time and make an organized zip file that anyone who wants stuff can download some time. I'll have to take a look at Battleplanner, etc for the combat stuff.
So, while it's not perfect, we have more then we thought!
I'm still here boys....I'm still playing...I still have all my figures....my 2 boys are now 21 and 18, but the oldest still plays. It's all good. We have a small group here in Indianapolis that plays 2-3 times per month. As a matter of fact we have a 1200 point conquest at my house the day before Thanksgiving. It's all good.
Yeah; we're really trying to rebuild everything; but it's going to start with the community first. Nothing (database wise) was lost; and almost everything that was on the site is still here; but been merged into other areas of the site with thread tags. It does suck about the wizkids mage knight site though .. that was a great resource. :(
I have copies of all the color paper terrain by ScottE from the the WK Mage Knight site and some of the 3D paper terrain buildings. I can send them to whomever would like them. Let me know.
Not sure what good it woud be, but I have a PDF version of some of the Scrying Chamber entries, as well as a saved version of at least one of the graphic battle reports that was on the WK site (minus the pictures, unfortunately); let me know if any of that would be useful. A while back I also compiled Stark's Dark Moon Rising into a single Word document.
This is so exciting! Out of curiousity, for those of you that still play once on a while, what's your format of choice? Have you made any house rules that you particularly like?

The Scrying Chamber stuff would be good to document the "canon" history of the game fiction. If I remember, the Scrying Chamber had a lot of that kind of stuff.
My game of choice is Dungeons. I play a variant called MKDungeons Outdoors which is nothing more than Dungeons on outdoor Heroclix style maps in a head-to-head style game.
I downloaded the Scrying Chamber PDFs, also. I can't remember for sure, but I vaguely remember not liking the PDFs for some reason, like the formatting or some such.
I really need to go through my files and try to compare them with the PDF. Plus, I got the files for the Scrying Chamber stuff that was never put into PDF format also, anyway.
