I'm glad the Realms are back. I've missed them. I recognize a couple people here, but my guess is no one knows me. I was SpiritCat10 on the old MWRealms (circa 2002-2004 or so). I mostly lurked, but I'll be more active now.
Wow, I didn't think I'd ever see MWRealms again. And my login account still works. Good to see it back again! Quick somebody - Grab a snapshot of all the rules clarifications, just in case it goes down again!
BTW, played a 2300+ battle last weekend after a bit of a hiatus, with a few rule additions. Got my ### kicked, but it was fun. It needs some further tweaks, but I was pretty happy with how the rules played. Here they are...
1) The standard turn is broken down into sub-turns, with each player using 3 orders, alternating until both players have used all 15 orders or decided to pass on using any remaining orders.
2) Units may be given multiple orders, following the Colossal rules, but non-Colossal units may only make one attack as a result of orders (unless a pilot ability is triggered that grants an additional order or attack)
3) Units given move orders that do not result in special attacks do not get order tokens after the move order is resolved.
4) Non-’Mech units that are given a second order token are not dealt pushing damage. Instead, non-’Mech units with two order tokens on them get –1 to their defense values.
5) You may give a non-’Mech unit an order if it has two order tokens on it. If you do, do not give it an order token after the order resolves, and do not deal pushing damage to the unit.
6) Attacking a shutdown mech only grants a +2 attack bonus
7) Damage and heat is tracked using the Solaris VII dice method, with heat and damage being applied during the cleanup phase after both players have used their 15 orders for the turn.
I learned of the return of CMGRealms thanks to Corlan, since he also received mail because of replies to an old post of his. I must say, it's good to be back. The current forum design is a bit basic, but I don't mind that. This used to be my favorite forum, after all. It's what's inside that counts.
Don't worry about that, we're still playing this game. It's not like we have defected to the WH40K legions. Don't give up on your dream of one day having a more voluminous post count than mine, LordNth. It may still happen.
Mhhhhh Mechwarrior mhhhhh being accused of InfantryWarrior VTOLWarrior and PogWarrior we migh try this game for now I more concerned with my 15 mm Dark Elves kicking arse.
