Maybe it'll be like overpower, where you 'venture', gamble in a sense. You venture to see whose side will that the most damage in points value. Whoever took more damage looses the venture and vice verse. The objective is to get all 7 mission cards to the top(or if your opponents gets all of his missions to the bottom), that's one way of winning the game, the other is by K.O.ing all of the opponents heroes. In overpower some players choose to play for venture, venturing wisely by measuring thier hand and their chances of winning the venture, these people venture 2-3 mission cards at a time, their deck is especially made for venture battles, useing cards that would usually be worthless during normal combat. While other people only go for kills, venturing usually only one mission card, and maybe 2 if they get an extremely good hand...
That might be the case ...but i doubt it. It will probably be more along the lines of how Exodia or Destiny Board or Final Countdown is in YuGiOh.
There will probably be effects or artifacts or some form of special requirement that would have to be met in order for you to win without the conventional (and i will use VS. terminology) reducing of indurance.
There is also direct attacks (similar to Direct Damage) by effect (so i've heard) that will be a another form of draining indurance.
Venturing was fun, but sadly i don't think that is what they are aiming at. I really liked the missions ;)
i was one of the guys who usually only bet one mission per battle :P usually i wouldn't just go in for the kill:angry: my tourney decks were more balanced though...
Like Magic the Gathering and WWE Raw Deal, certain cards allow for victory conditions. It is my belief that that Marvel the TCG will be NO different. Maybe a set of particular cards and or play conditions will have to be met. All-in-all I think a discard deck is going to be one of the more viable engines in the game. Remember, no cards in hand, mean less play options. But reading the deck types from UD/Marvel web-site there will ALWAYS be ways to counter...hence the multiple victory conditions!
well, if it goes the magic/raw deal/yugioh way, then i wouldn't expect many people to try to win that way since there's probably going to be 'milling', making people discard cards from their deck, and decreasing the chances that all the cards that you need for the victory combo will be available. Overpower's "venture" way would be more probable if UD WANTS there to be another way to win the game. The magic/raw deal/yugioh ways are just an option, not a standard different way of beating your opponent.
