not much frankly, once a charachter exhaust to use its power it will happen regardless of what the defednerdoes, unless a card specifacly says "negate" like the mark II's.
Originally posted by bizzarnage I'd disagree, Surfer. The effect is coming from two different cards. Even though they're both the same named character, each effect comes from a different source card and should resolve separately, hitting twice for four. Parallel identical effects firing off from the same trigger event, it can happen in a lot of card games.
Each effect sets up a delayed trigger. It has absolutely nothing to do with coming from different cards. If you were able to ready the character again, you could activate her again on the same creature and get a second delayed trigger that would result in 8 endurance loss should that character become stunned. It doesn't have to come from a different source in order for this to happen; there just needs to be a seperate effect added to the chain.
Locke - I was replying to the specific scenario asked about, where each Destiny is KO'd to recruit the next and different cards are indeed involved. I didn't say the effects needed to come from different sources, just that they did in that situation. Of course you can use the effect again if you ready the character again, but that's not what the question was about.
It's easy to criticise a statement if you take it out of context.

That was not my intent although reading my reply I can see how it could be taken that way. I was trying to point out to the readers of this post that the source is seperate from the effect and that you didn't _need_ a seperate source to generate an effect twice. I'm sorry I didn't make this more clear.
Okay, I guess this was just a case of miscommunication then. No biggie.
The point with Destiny, which I think we can all agree on, is that you can indeed theoretically stack her ability more than once in a turn. You just need to make her able to use her power multiple times, whether this is through replacing her by recruiting a new copy of the card or by readying her. As you said, each activation of the power sets up a delayed trigger, which then cannot be prevented other than by effects that specifically negate an ability.

Yes, on this we agree. Note that I never said that it didn't work this way, just that there was room for question.
To further the what can be done about it end of the post, the MarkII Sentinel was already mentioned, and if you have the Scarlet Witch out, your opponent will have to pay to pull it off. If you have the initiative, proper application of force can help also. If your opponent uses Pyro's ability, it may well leave a front row character without reinforcement, so you lay in hard. If they haven't yet used Pyro's ability, then forcing them to reinforce insures that they won't. Even if you don't have initiative, the same principles apply, you are just less likely to be able to use them as well.
I know this question has been answered, but I thought I'd through in an interesting game that happened to me. I had destiny on the board and 2 in my hand. It was turn 5 and I had 5 resourses. I used Destiny's ability, then play Destiny, used abiality, played Destiny, Used Avalon discarding a nightcrawler(Mutan Nation was in play) and got back 2 Destiny's and did it again. All in all I had 5 triggered abilities all on one Robot Destroyer.
My oppontant choose to use Robot Destroyer's ability to stun one of my characters and he took 25 dmg ;-) (20 from the delayed triggered abilities and 5 from getting stuned)

I feel for the poor Robot Destroyer. You lucked out that he didn't have a Doom with Power Compressor on the filed at the time.
Not sure what you are implying... are you implying that Swift Escape would have helped the Robot Destroyer? Or that I should have used Swift Escape to replay Destiny again?
