Sorry. I'm a huge X-Men fan and I love Magneto (obviously) and Xavier etc., but Xavier could not beat Doom.
Why?
Because Doom is smarter than Xavier. Doom would beat most anyone just like Batman could beat most of the DCU. I'd say that Batman's greatest foe would be someone on the scale of Luthor, just how Doom is mirrored by Reed.
Xavier is a powerful telepath, but Doom knows this. The only way Doom would lose is either in hindsight (something unforeseen, perhaps Magneto helping Xavier which I doubt Doom would see) or if he never knew of Xavier... which isn't possible given the state of mutants in the Marvel U.

Standard sets are designed to fix any flaw they might have come across during their first printing, such as these for example, right? What's wrong with that?

Also the second biggest problem is Brotherhood. WHY IN THE WORLD DID UDE MAKE THIS????
Because as long as there is variety, then it is inevitable to have a perfectly balance game. Tier listing will always exist in a game with such variety.
However, similar to Magic using a color-pool, Vs. System utilizes the concept of teams to establish checks and balances within a game. Unfortunately, with such a relatively small amount of cards available right now, Brotherhood decks might seem a little too dominant. Nevertheless, there are still a lot of viable tournament decks that can indeed keep up with Brotherhood, which is quite impressive for only one set thus far.
the game is good as i can see (no unbelievable combo's that make the game lame to play) anything in the game right now has a counter pretty much and i like it that way.. pretty balanced.. as for the teams they all have a flavor just like the colors in mtg.. blue is mind magic etc.. if i could draw similarities i would say doom is the most blue like.. ff is artifact (equipment) brotherhood is red most definitely.. xmen is kinda tricky.. hard to put a color on them.. (would have to be mixed) Of course brotherhood is winning the most right now because everyone is new to the game and the easiest strategy in a new game is face busting (didn't everyone usually play red when they were starting magic? direct damage was very attractive) but when you get more used to a game the little things come out that make you think and whala new strategies are born to counter the "beat face" mentality

Oh so true. In a relatively young metagame aggro-decks tend to be the way to go. But when time goes on and more cards are printed, it becomes easier to focus control decks. You really have to know what kind of strategies you have to control and you have to have tools for that.
Personally I'm really happy how well Marvel VS plays at the moment and I hope they can keep the same quality level in the future.
