Originally posted by cfbrunner I guess the fact that it doesn't -just- hose TPC was my main point. The card has a great ability, that also ends up hosing another card. A card that wasn't really being abused in the first place, as far as I know.
It's really not that big a deal. The Power Cosmic was always the kind of card you stuck in your Doom deck just in case it might come in handy, not the kind of card you actually build your deck around. Doom players will still put The Power Cosmic in their decks, they just won't use it against Batman.
Sorry I'm not adding to the current argument, but it seems the only way I can read this card or any preview card originating from metagame.com is by clicking on a link from vsrealms. If I go to metagame through my favorites, and try to access any article, I get a blank skin. If I may ask, is anyone else having this problem? As happy as I am going through vsrealms to get to metagame articles, I don't think that is the intention of the creators of metagame.
So while SOME DC Origins cards are good at taking out the power of SOME MOR cards, you got to keep in mind that other cards are in the set hosing the hosers.
And Doom -likes- Ra's time to time. They have tea.
Here's what he says:
"At the start of the build phase, Bruce’s Batcave triggers. Bruce gives Victor the initiative. "
Okay, so Victor has the initiative. And plays Power Cosmic.
Then we get the the combat phase, and the author says:
"The player who currently has initiative (Bruce) puts his effect on the chain first (Batcave’s). The next player (Victor) puts his effect on the chain (The Power Cosmic’s)."
Uh doesn't VICTOR have the initiative? So Victor puts Power Cosmic on the chain, THEN Bruce puts batcave on the chain. So Power Cosmic > Batcave?
I was just about to post that, you are right, Danny Mandel made a mistake. If Bruce has never given the initiative, then it would have worked like he wanted.
In otherwords, if you want to be protected from Power Cosmic, then you can not take advantage of giving the initiative during the build phase.
Yip was viewing this thread at 8 am California time. With all the anxious energy we will surely experience around here waiting for Elite Series reports and new previews I figured it would make an entertaining necro... exactly three years old.
My head hurts reading this card:( anyone want to give me an in game example of how this card works. I think I know but I just want to make sure.
This card has way to many words. My eyes hurt reading it.

It essentially forces your opponent have his build phase before yours by giving him the iniative and then return the iniative to you at the start of the combat phase and for the rest of the turn.
Just so you get a heads-up to what he is going to play and his formation and keep him in the dark to what you're going to play and your formation. I just realized that it makes Secret Origins better ;)
Wow, this card is literally broken in half. This card makes your opponent act first every single turn, regardless of iniative. Once you know what he plays, you then have the luxury of knowing what to play yourself. No more guessing at just what card your opponent may play, you can always have the perfect anwser for it, with this delight. The staple of GK, and the biggest reason to play them!
