JediJames is my hero. I started to do this yesterday and gave up. (since I forgot the search command) I needed to know if there were really that many Flame Traps. There were. I still don't quite understand how I got paired with 3 out of 31, but I will figure it out before the next tourney.
Thank you, this is a very important thread. (Until August 1 at least.)

"When/whenever someone is attacked..." applies to each member of a team attack, meaning that if Super-Skrull is team attacked by two characters, he may discard up to two cards, giving him +6/+6 and causing 6DEL. Three characters attack him, and he can go up to +9/+9 with 9DEL. This is in addition to readying the Skrull soldiers, of course.

I don't think that is correct. He was talking about cards like Bishop that read "when this character attacks or is attacked by a character with...". Those will trigger each time their condition is met upon the attack commensing. Super-Skrull's ability only ever triggers once. It isn't any different than Human Torch, Johnny Storm or Darkoth.
I'm pretty sure Eric is right. The difference between Bishop and Super Skrull is a matter of the difference between the trigger of an ability and the bonus that trigger provides. Super Skrull's ability triggers every time he attacks or is attacked. A team attack is considered as one attack even though there are multiple attackers. When Super Skrull is team attacked his ability triggers once because he is only being attacked once. Bishop, however, has an ability that, although seemingly similar, is different. Whenever Bishop is attacked his ability triggers (In the same way Super Skrull's ability triggers.), but his ability provides a bonus for every character attacking him with range. It's the same trigger, but the bonus is calculated in different ways.
This honestly makes Stall a lot stronger IMO, either that or we will start seeing a few more Finishing Moves in decks, get rid of that Beast Boy or Super Skrull.
Glad to see the Skrulls getting better...always knew Super Skrull would be broken one day ^^
That is the most convoluted explanation of grammatical intent I have ever seen. Using Alex's logic, I can trigger Human Torch Johnny Storm & Supernova, Black Cat, Beast Boy (BROKEN), Medusa, Bishop, Matt Hage @ Clayface (BROKEN) and bunches of others once for each attacker while defending. I'd highly encourage UDE to errata the affected cards (there aren't that many) immediately or clarify this ruling OFFICIALLY ON THEIR WEB SITE. This presents a loophole that could be abused in future sets considering that it is pretty obvious that these cards were not intended to work this way. That's all.
Originally posted by [FD]Swordfish Hm, 130 decks with Savage Beatdown, what a surprise ;) Since there were 101 Sabretooth, one would say the remaining 29 decks w/beatdown were probably FF (not saying other decks cant use it, just likely, and if you say that all BH decks had beatdown)
-grin- just for the record - I was playing X-Hood with Feral Rage but no Beatdowns =)

Without checking all the DC cards, I can ask about either version of the Torch... Who cares? He can pump his attack once for each attacker. He can only hit one attacker back, and it costs endurance to do this. Spending 12 endurance to give Johnny Storm +12 attack doesn't make alot of sense since he is only ever going to be attacked by a maximum of two weak characters.
Medusa does become better, I recall that it was always like this for Bishop, but I do agree. They need to be careful with this or something could get screwed up bigtime.
Hey, I was with you at the beginning of that other post, but I thought Alex pretty much settled all the questions.
I know that a bunch of these cards aren't really broken by the ruling (torch, medusa, bishop). However, this is still not how many of these cards were intended to work when they were designed. Cards like Clayface and Beast Boy from DC are WAY stronger because of this. If you team attack clayface with 2 guys he gets at least +8/+8. Three guys? +18/+18. Someone from UDE tell me that is how it is intended to work. If it isn't like I suspect, it should be fixed so it won't be a long-standing loophole for future cards to abuse.

Huh? Defenders never cause BEL, so how is any of this broken?
