I'll scan the global domination later today as proof. Whether you believe me or not, I've never attended a PCQ or PC or any sort of tournament, so there's no other way I could have obtained these cards. I'm gonna buy some more packs today to see if it was just a "bad box" ("bad" meaning "good," of course :))
I just hope that others didn't find out about it before I go back. He just got the box on Friday, so it's had the whole weekend to sit there. The general crowd at that store is a MTG one, so I'm not sure if they'd even take a peek (at least I'm hoping not).
Only a few more hours and I could take my lunch... come on clock! Hurry up!!!
Stu, I think scol is right. I played in a casual tourney on Saturday and a guy opened a DC pack with an Extended Batman in it. The store owner tried to take it away, and me and the guy refused to let him. He immediately took the box off the shelf and opened the other packs- none had extended art. He's mad at me... but... :( Problems there, but that's confirmation on the rumor.
The Joker, Laughing Lunatic was given out at Gen Con for playing in the side events. For every 3 events you played in you got one. I have mine and its gorgeous. I'll scan it in if you'd like, but I'm sure you can see them on eBay.
As for extended art promos in DC packs... well I think it's time to buy another box...
Well if that's the case, I hope its the whole box and not just the packs I checked... but either way, I lucked out.
All I know is I'm buying only a few packs first before I make any decision whether or not to buy the leftovers.
What was good about it too was that it came with all the usual contents. There was a DC rare in the pack as well as the EA card and the usual balance of uncommons. The one pack out of the three that didn't have an EA card had 15 cards instead of 14.
It seems that the usual FOIL in the pack was the EA card for the ones that did have them.
I'll let you know when I make my lunch run if I luck out some more.
I just got 8 more (not the whole box), and I pulled 2 more EA's (both War on Humanity)
I have a theory that they may be one side of that particular box. From that side I've either pulled a EA with a rare, or a FOIL rare (no EA). So it appears as I've said above that the EA basically equals the FOIL per pack.
I may try to snag the rest on that side at the end of the day to see if my theory is true.
