Actually it would prolly work better w/6-drop Doom since you can steal any plot twist they have down there and there's no way for them to chain it if it's a Signal Flare or something like that, where as if the 4-drop Doom was on the field they could respond by just playing the Flare.
They can flip it, but then you force them to use a Plot Twist earlier then they'd like to. Also, they can't flip an Acrobatic Dodge, Savage Beatdown, Its Clobberin Time, etc
If you have a 6-cost doom out, and they try to use a plot twist from their resource row, and they they realize their mistake...is their any reason, other than common courtesy in casual events, that you wouldn't just take whatever they started to flip?
Along the same lines, if I put a character face down, I would almost always mock-flip it at least once, where I look at it, begin to flip it, and stop when I look at Doom, psyching my opponent out.
I love random elements of psychology and bluffing in ccg's.
Well I about every attack look at every face down resource I have even if it would have absolutely nothing to do with the attack, like be a character or something else that gives non-combat abilities, just to make my opponent more nervous. :) Like in one game I got with that my opponent to ko 2 face down characaters from my resource row with his apocalypse instead of some face up locations I had. :)
Either Doom can obviously work for it. I think it should replace Darkoth in Common Enemy. Granted, Darkoth can swing for some damage, but it also sets you behind in resources. Purple Man is a bit less damage, but it offers another element of control. And speaking of control, Surfer would get Apoc's slots, seeing as how he's fetchable with Flare, and can definately control the last turn or two of a game.
Purple Man is great. I want to try and mkae a deck that revolves around him.
Blakc Cats, Roses, Bad Presses, Hidden Surveillances. It'll be a bad deck, but fun.
