Originally posted by Dragoonxix Why would savage still be worth as much right now when mega blast is 1 attack less and only cost 1 to play and can give you range I find that to be a better card the savage beatdown and you get the effect for the turn not just one attack so if you can ready the attacker he can use it twice.
Not yet, it's too early. But Latverian Embassy and Flamethrower both look like good candidates for being the expensive card of the set.
Latverian Embassy because it stops a lot of key plot twists that are played in tourney decks in the resource row, including the more reliable of the two cards able to get rid of Latverian Embassy itself (Have a Blast!).
Flamethrower because of multiple reasons. It is great if you have initiative or don't due to the direct damage effect. It makes any character able to kill the vast majority of characters that cost two more than it does. And it lets you soften the blow big time from missing a drop. Also, it is now the biggest ATK pump on a piece of equipment (except of course The Shrike, in rare instances), and only costs one resource.
Plus a few of the archetypes can really abuse it. X-Men and Arkham Asylum with their Bamf! and Sucker Punch combos, respectively. In addition, X-Men has Nightcrawler - Kurt Wagner and Archangel - Angel of Death for even more synergy. Finally, burn decks and FF toys decks will both be able to use Flamethrower to maximum effect.
It's too hard to judge. In some games 1st edition cards end up being worth a lot more, in most games they are only slightly higher or the same price as their Unlimited counterparts. Basically, it's just way too early to know that. That is the speculation side of collectibles.
do you think they should do a card that you can only get through ordering from a mag?
like a mag can offer it and the offer is for a cool card that everybody would like....kinda like how they do now with heroclix and have been doing with heroclix?
what do you think?

Geez, that means actually having to buy rags like Inquest & Scrye? No thanks.
Originally posted by cda031076 havn't bought those before,or maybe i have before but only once....why don't you like them, and is there a better mag than those mag?
It's that those magazine's have a lot of junk in them, and their top ten lists are always wrong. The price guides are either to high or to low, and the decks they make are stupid.
