They're not directly comparable as each is suited to a different deck type.

Darkoth is a beat stick while Purple Man is all about control and disruption.

But which one is better for Common Enemy. (This is what I call good service.) Thanx for ur help Zaxx.

I'd say Purple Man overall, since you don't want to sacrifice resources very often ever with Common Enemy. Now, a Doom/TT deck, on the other hand...

To be honest, I'm not familiar with the mechanics of the Common Enemy deck so I'm not the best person to ask.

I do know that Darkoth's ability is severely limiting to decks which don't thrive on low resources.

Even in TNB decks, you're taking a big risk pumping Darkoth before turn 5.

Darkoth's power strikes me as an emergency maneuver for anything involving Doom considering Doom decks often cannot afford to miss any drop aside from the first.

If you're hard up enough to retard your development, you're probably going to lose any way.

In my admittedly uneducated opinion, Purple Man fits the overall Doom strategy much better than Darkoth.
