Wow, I really wish I would've read your deck list plus points before writing the article, but this article is more about splashability that straight F5 anyway, methinks. The next time I submit an article to stu, I'm gonna have to make sure I do a decklist search on the team(s) I'm talking about.
So this really annoying guy walks into my store wearing his Red Sox hat and them being down 0-2 to the Yankees. "There gonna make a comeback, " he tells me.
"Dude, there is no way in hell the cursed Red Sox are gonna make it back from an 0-2 deficit." We playfully argue back and forth and he ends up wanting to bet on it. He offers a friendly wager of $5 and seeing how I am such an evil person and sensing an easy mark, I counter with $20.
So the next day the Yankees win like a bajillion to one or something and in walks annoying person. I laugh and make fun of him and he almost gives me the $20 on the spot. Almost.
So now, suddenly I am out $20 and I am about to eat crow and I have to tell you, I am cool with that. Go Boston!!!
________ Halfbaked
4 Alfred Pennyworth, Faithful Friend

4 Dr. Light, Arthur Light
19 GCPD Officer, Army
3 Harvey Bullock, GCPD Detective

4 Bat-Signal

2 Marvel Team-Up
4 Press the Attack
2 The Underworld Star
4 World's Finest
2 Clocktower [/b]
I ran it differently. I used less cops, 1 copy of Avalon (all i had to spare), no fizzles, 4 teams, 3 or 4 stars, 2 mammoths, 1 each 4 drop Dick, 5 drop Shiva and Batty, 7 Drop Batty and he Boy Scout. I also didn't run presses and only ahd 2 Alfreds. We are ripping it apart to put togther a 5 Titans deck which i'll post tomorrow.
profparm, i built a deck just like that the other day and it works pretty well the only hard part was keeping neutron protected but the deck worked very well. ;)
musicmann, keeping neutron protected is really the ONLY part about the deck that gets really, really tricky. I've been thinking a bhood/F5 "New Bad Neighborhood" (get it, cause it's scary and uses New Brotherhood) that plays Neutron and keeps him protected with Blob plus Acro Dodges and such. Also, a Spidey deck that goes over the top on defense with Nice Try, Spider Senses, My Hero, and Acro Dodge would just go nuts with Neutron, and would have the bonus of a growing 5 drop for your opponent to contend with. The real problem is that the deck wouldn't want to play too many Spider-Men to power up AS with, because 8 of the 20 are unplayable, and 4 of the remaining 12 or useless, so you would optimally only have 7 potential power-up cards, after playing Spidey himself. Although an AS My Hero does seem to be one of the meaner things you can do with the deck....
For the record, I just played "Fearsome Men" again, and it went 2-2 against a spidey-friends deck, with most of the games being really close (except the game where I drew 4 chars, two of them being Dr. Light; that game wasn't close).
More important than it's record, it is seriously one of THE most fun decks I've ever played, in any game, short of any given deadlands deck! (Also, it doesn't quite compete with the Invasion Block all Sanctuary deck, but nothing will ever be as fun as that again, says I).
Just saying, try a F5/Splash deck, it is one of the funnest things ever.
I gotta sya, I love the Fearsome Five deck. However, I gotta say, So far, F5 looks like it features 2 antagonistic archetypes crammed together in one rather dysfunctionnal team...
The big problem is that FF5 has the stuff to dominate both the early game and the late game. However, in order to dominate in one part of the game, they have to sacrifice their dominance of the other part.
See, both Mammoth, and Neutron give you the potential to totally dominate the 5 or less ressources part of the game, but at the cost of severely screwing up your curve. However, Dr. Light and Psimon both not only require much more then 5 ressources in order to work, but they also need you to stay on curve as much as possible in order for maximum effect (really how cool is it to bust Psimon out after your opponent just played Apocalypse?)
While these 4 caracters will end up carving the orientation your deck makes, the other 3 caracters (Gizmo, Shimmer, and Jinx) can easily fit in either archetypes as they're not as demanding when it comes to respect of your curve... (also note, they can easily fit your loyalty requirements)
Bottom line is in order to have a well functionning deck, you need to play either Mammoth, and Psimon (which aren't that synergistic anyway since you realyl want Mammoth to actually come AFTER Neutron) or Dr Light, and Psimon. Then feel free to add the 3 "neutral" caracters in... Maybe that's why they call them the "Fearsome Five" even thought there are 7 caracters... In the end, you really want only 5 of them in your deck.
4 fear and confusion
4 world's finest
4 crushing blow
4 sucker punch
4 underworld star
4 paralizing kiss
4 kidnapping
The point of the deck is to use Neutron and Firefly to keep each players resources at 5 or less. Then use shimmer to exhaust your opponents characters and charaxes and poison ivy to control the board. And since you're keeping the resources down to 5 why not make sure your characters don't take any breakthrough with paralizing kiss. Sucker punch should make sure your characters don't stun and kidnapping self explanatory. This deck is very good once it is up and running.
Oh the non-inclusion of Kaboom, Foiled, and Have a blast is due to the fact that firefly and neutron keep the resources in check so there is no need for the location hate.
For those who want to try something fun and new try this deck, trust me your opponents will be frustrated at the overwhelming board position you have.
P.S. Try not to play mammoth until turn 6 or atleast after you have neutron in play.
