finishing move beatdown and press the attack are what makes rob's TT build the best out there. it allwes him to leave garth out of the team attack and clean up with just Arsenal hank dove and tim drake. throw in a beat down for good messure and with just one ttg and one press the attack he can clear a board of 4 charters and still direct attack you for 9 more if not 18. so your looking at takeing areound 33 endurance on turn 6 in damage less what ever you have taken. thats a big hit to your endurance and usealy a game ender.

Clearly in this instance it didn't prove to be a problem, and I would be interested to hear what elements of Rob's deck improved the matchup so significantly. Foiled and Finishing Move seem instrumental in making the matchup more favourable, but to me it still seems like a bold choice.
Originally posted by yamichicken77 Teen Titans seems to be a formidable opponet from all of the information Iv'e gathered. IMO, the titans will continue their rage for at least another set, and hopefully after that. Although for any deck type, you will need to know what kind of decks pumble it, so you can get the cards to hopefully prevent that from happening. Would anyone know the deck types that pumble Teen Titans?

I think you may start seeing friendly fire enter back into some decks. As far as deck types, maybe something with mr. freeze would help. The sentinel curve is actually pretty good against it. If it draws correctly, the exta pumps on mark iv make them a bit harder for roy to kill as well as the bastion that can pump whoever roy is targeting. And it doesn't necessarily need to hit the curve, so the foiled and kabooms, don't really hurt it.
As far as im concerned the only tier 1 deck so far is Common Enemy. Look at the PC Indy. Who cares about 10K tournaments. Oh.......wait a minute.......is that a Teen Titans deck i see in the PC indy top 8. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The Indy winner was not any better of a judge of the constructed metagame than large 10Ks because of the draft element. If you look at the standings after the initial Swiss rounds, you'll see Teen Titans as one of the few undefeated decks.
The main influence of Indy on the metagame was all the people who started playing CE just because it "won" that event despite the fact that it was several places down after the Swiss rounds. Rigged Elections and Monodoom both placed higher after swiss than the Common Enemy decks if I recall correctly.

I am well aware of the power of Press the Attack etc in Titans - having also won a 10k event with them and doing much of what you have just mentioned. What I am interested in is how much it is felt that the addition of finishing move/foiled improve the matchup (which in my experience isn't particularly hot).

You can not depend on the PC to always produce the best constructed deck. There were many quality constructed players with Teen Titans that did not make top 8 because of the booster draft, not thier constructed decks. Becasue half of the PC is limited, 10Ks actaully give you a better gauge of which decks are better because they are all constructed.
Foiled and finishing move are what allows the titans to defeat doom and his ff enemies. Since CE usually has both char on the field, the foiling the CE will stop Doom from locking up your hand. As well as keeping him from moving along the curve to the bigger characters. Finishing move allows you to get rid of doom or FF whichever you need to. If he doesn't have a FF on the field, then he can't play heavy hitter.
I usually try to finish either she-hulk or she thing before he ever gets to doom and heavy hitter. That way he doesn't do much to me. They are key to the match up.

Exactly.
Which is why I feel that Draft should make up a lower percentage of your overall score versus Constructed.
As much as Draft tests more skills... Constructed is where the game is at (which is why you don't see a "Top 8 Draft decklist" on Metagame or a "What cards did he draft in pod 2?" thread on the Realms after the PC).
I have been playign titans since DDC first came out. Since they were born ive been playing them, no-oen ever understood there power nor how good they are until somethign liek this has happened. then everyoen is scrambling to get what they can, jump on the bandwagon and net deck. I personally went to a shop over in green bay a few weeks ago and saw ans Exact replica of my deck, to the T. I asked the guy where he got it from, he said realms. Ididnt get his name, but it goes to show, titans are finally making there appearance to the big time. im glad for it.
I ran 3 Foiled's and 2 Finishing Moves in my version of the deck at a PCQ this weekend. I did very well and wouldn't change the deck one bit. It was nice to get home on Sunday to see that the 10K winner had come the exact same conclusion I had. Foiled just wrecks a lot of decks, and - in my view - is a better metagame call right now than Kaboom.
I really like the Titans. It's aggro. It's control. It's combo. How can you NOT like it?
Personally, I think the bigger question is are you going to switch to Curve Sentinels or was that just a glitch in the metagame that will be squashed like Rigged Elections?
The reason why Rigged Elections is not tier 1 is it auto loses againsted 4 drop Doom. It is not like it can come back from that. 4 drop doom hits the table and you can just go to the next game.
Curve Sentinals does not have a match-up that is that bad, so it just needs to be stable on its own.
