Originally posted by lppuni5h3rlp i know for a fact that the cards will not be allowed in the new format, unless they apply to the avengers set, which would suggest that there are alot of doom and f4 cards in the new set..........tell me,do you think marketing common enemy AGAIN would be a smart buisness choice?it would destroy golden age metagame,so i do not think you will be playing with the new cards in the starter decks,if they do,ill eat my own ass
So you don't know anything for a fact.
The Batman starter is the one for more concern, as FF will be released in the middle of Modern Age.
The starter for FF will not be a Common Enemy deck. That is a gross error. It will have some new cards, some old cards. Rest assured, we will not see most of the cards from Common Enemy in this starter.
UDE did not market Common Enemy. It was a strong deck. How do you think it would destroy the Golden Age metagame? Common Enemy is completely legal in Golden Age now, and barely anyone plays it.
And "ill eat my own ass" practically deserves reporting your post. Please refrain from that kind of language when trying to make a point.
No, the textless cards will be new character cards without any abilities. It other words, maybe something like a 4-drop Thing that's a 7/7 and that's it. He has no other powers, just hits for 7 and can take 7 and is on the Fantastic Four. To balance out the lack of powers, the textless cards will probably be a little bigger than average for their drop: 7/8 or 8/7 or so.
do yourself a favor and pick up the trade paperback of the Marvel Knights story. Jae Lee art. Don't remember the writer, but the story arc was fantastic! Better than all the other original MK stories imho.
Hey, Pojo seems to be under the impression that 16 alternate art cards will be sold with the movie trading cards. These will presumably be in the starter too, in some form or another, so we at least have some idea of how many reprints we'll be seeing.
Here is the info from the Comics Buyer's Guide #1604.
"The Marvel Trading Card Game: Fantastic Four Starter sets have been pushed up to release in late May. The starter sets are designed for an introductory audience, and the cards will feature new art, focussing on characters and events in the FF movie - though the cards will not feature images from the movie itself.
Some cards will feature extended art with special foil treatment. Card play will be simplified from standard Vs. System play but be fully compatible. Each start set wil contain two 26 card preconstructed decks."
Originally posted by cyke i have heard the same romur, but about the batman trading cards based off the movie.
one vs card will be in each trading card pack for the batman begins movie.
and i guess they will do the same thing for FF.
a pretty neat idea.
Here is what Comics Buyers Guide said about the Batman cards:
"The previously announced Batman Begins entertainment card set has been cancelled, as have the movie photo image Vs. System DC TCC cards that were to be included with the set. Instead, UDE will publish a Batman Begins sticker book and collectible sticker set, which will not include DC TCG cards."
