I'm just waiting for the day we get the other Birds of Prey and perhaps a supporting plot twist. Love it that they're adding them in as a sub-team of sorts. Now let's flesh that out more in future sets.
I'm kinda mad we didn't get a Black Canary, I'm hoping she shows up in JL. Well, she will. but as a gotham knight. they could use some nice exhaustion power.
I think the cards in the Batman/DC starter are good solid cards. The characters have good stats and decent abilities up and down.
For my beloved though some of the best are at the same point as the best characters in My Beloved.
Run whisper over Alfred...doubt it.
3 drop oracle, Kyle aboot, Hook - over Huntress or Ubu hmm choices
4 drop Ra's will get played just so good, so is Batgirl though.
5 drop catwoman Ubu - over Bane or Batman..once again choices.
Merlyn(6) -> doesn't replace Dick grayson or Sensei or Azreal.
Batman and 7 drop Ra's -> replacing Dr Eben, Az Bat or Shiva...maybe but I doubt it.
But the choices are cool, and the cards are good.
Not like FF/Doom god I want to trade mine for another DC Starter.
Well all those characters really help mono LoA, they might actually be competitive now, and that new location that gives you possible card advantage is also nice. :) Especially those two non-loyal 3 drops and the 4 drop Ra's are good, 6 drop Merlyn is also rather nice for when you don't have initiative turn 6, when you do have initiative Sensei is likely better. 5 drop Shiva might also be decent as she has potential to do a lot of breakthrough with that built-in blind-sided. I don't really see much reason to run that 7 drop Ra's though, as if it is my init I want Shiva, and if it is not my init I want Ebenezer, for most parts. Talia and Whisper instead are rather so-so.
Hmmm... So if the Bats/LOAs are legal in DC modern, are the new FF/Doom cards legal in Modern Marvel? Sure, the really good stuff is still Golden Age, but... maybe a Common Enemy style could be built (using modern teamups). Valeria and Diplomatic Immunity and even Lockjaw would be legal.
Can't wait to see the new starters.

Current decks:
Fantastic Fun
Darkseid Pure
Black Vomit (Anti-GL/Hounds army)
Phantom Phonebooth
MK-Spidey Modern
Wow: FFbeats just got some options on turn 7, Gotham nights can be a solo tier one or tier two in my opinion now, My beloved decks are gonna be seen more, Common enemy just got stronger, Loa is gonna be seen more now, So it seems everyone benefits from this.
Am I the only one who wants to run solo gotham nights after this or what?
Some general news—The Batman and Fantastic Four Starter Decks are listed as being legal for tournament play as of June 1, 2005, in the online tournament policy document (www.ude.com/policy). This means that these decks are legal for the Golden Age format and the Modern Age formats (Batman for Modern or DC Modern; Fantastic Four for Modern or Marvel Modern). Expect an update to the Vs. System tournament policy sooner than October 1, 2005, as listed in the document.
