Play Time isn't all that situational. If you're not up against a GL deck, or aren't worried about Sinestro or similar effects, then Play Time is useful for removing a potential reinforcer, or making a protected character unprotected. It does take some thought to use, but it is particularly nasty when formation is important.
And yes, Mean Green Machine could be brought in to 'counter' it, but then again, that's also a meta card. If GL players are using that, then it means they've given up space in their deck that could have been used for something else. It's kind of an odd balance.
Play Time is NEVER situational, it crushes formations. That will always be something you can use. As for Green Machine, how many decks are gonna run that? Most GL decks will be secure enough with their Coast Cities and Tomar Tu, etc., enough that they won't need something like Machine.
The sinistro stun/don't stun was argued about today with regards to Sucker Punch. I showed them the printout from metagame, and the consencus was that it was legal, but 'broken'
Especially with Kyle Rainer protected by Katma, and a fistfull of Cover Fires and Guardians Reborn.
Attacker in Sinestro's text refers to 'the character(s) that was/were attacking'. The text triggers after the conclusion of the attack, so there are no longer any attackers. Bamf! and the like will be stopped.
Hi there, had this problem last night with tim drake (2) titains teamed up with mr milixipl (whatever). He claimed he could shunt all the stuns from sinestro onto mr .p and aviod being stunned at all. Any ideas on this one?
His ability triggers when a team attack would be stunned. Since Sinestro's stunning effect is chained after the attack has concluded, the team attackers that swung that attack no longer count as such, and thus, Tim Drake can't stop him from snapping all their necks. ^_^
Say I attack my opponent's John Stewart with Killer Croc. Normally, Croc wouldn't stun because he has a higher DEF than John Stewart's ATK. However, Sinestro's abilty triggers after the attack so Croc would stun.
Question: In response to Sinestro's abilty, could I activate Blackgate and stun Croc to draw a card? According to what I understand, Sinestro's abilty triggers after the attack has concluded. So if I stun Croc myself in order to draw a card, would John Stweart still be stunned?
