I consider the current Blue Beatle an extended member of the Bat-Clan, with his connection to Robin and his constant work in 'Birds of Prey.' One of my favorite scenes is when Oracle put Beatle in one of Batman's Simulators in a mock battle with Kalibak.
"Geeze, why don't you just have me fight the guy who killed Superman?"
With that, you could even say Booster Gold is an extended member of the Super-Family, with his working in Metropolis and being inspired by the greatest hero of the past.
Thus, making Blue and Gold the...World's Funniest.
ROFLMAO!!!! YES, BLUE BEETLE AND BOOSTER GOLD ARE THE FUNNIEST!!!! ESPECIALLY IN "FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE JUSTICE LEAGUE"!!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR "CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT THE JUSTICE LEAGUE"!!!!
Briel & Golden Age, its good to see you on another stream. Wherever you two are, quality discussion is a mainstay!
anyhoo....
DC's #1 family in my opinion is and always will be the JSA! Whereas the JLA is the world's greatest team, and the titans are the greatest of friends, JLA defines family. not only do they have representatives of every great family in the DCU Including the Hawks (Carter, Kendra, Hector, etc.), but they have reintroduced and included Ma Hunkel into mainstream DCU. if that isnt family.....
in the family since the beginning,
Fate

That's classic! has anyone ever thought of that one before? you should submit that to DC! they need to do a World's Funniest limited series! it could focus on their seperate connections to supes and Batman, as they follow leads seperatle (in a tiff and fighting--not speaking to one another) and run into one another... forcing them to work together!
Make mine Marvel (family that is). Cap, Mary, Cap jr, the 3 Lt Marvels, Uncle Dudley, Mr Tawney the talking tiger and Marvel Bunny. The best family unit in comics period.

Yeah, but he quoted the Colin Baker version. I hated that guy. He's the only actor to play the Doctor who ever got fired, and he deserved it. Tom Baker all the way!
While Colin was let go, it was because he stood up against BBC Controller Michael Grade who was out to kill Doctor Who. So whether you liked his version of The Doctor or not, Colin deserves a lot of respect. Many would have kept their mouth shut to not get blackballed by the BBC Controller.
And Colin always hated that coat. It wasn't his idea. LOL!
Isn't it weird how much BBC hated their best show ever? there is a long-running history of BBC brass trying to torpedoe or sabotage Doctor Who. does that make any sense? Its like the highest rated series they ever did isn't it?
It's the same problem everywhere. Sci Fi is not respected as true drama. An example being Sarah Michelle Gellar not being nomnated even once for an Emmy for Buffy.
The Doctor was actually well loved until the vendetta of Michael (call me satan) Grade. By the time he was done, there was no budget, format changes, time changes, and ratings were a 4th of what they had been. Oddly enough, in today's environment of a housand chanels, the numbers would be OK. But back then, to drop from 11 million to 4 million was a crushing blow.
Of course the good Doctor's budget was always less than a tenth of Star Trek's. Which makes it cool that they had aliens who looked like aliens instead of nose jobs, and many more wild off the wall kinds of storylines. Truly a series that could and would go anywhere.
Could you see Picard fronting against The Happiness Patrol and the Candyman? I think not!

Thanks Doc...
I'd have to agree with you. The JSA are TIGHT!!! (as a comic and a family)
I loved Green Lantern's renewed oath (in JSA #50, I think) to serve the children of the JSA and never let them down (as he had his own children). Great stuff!
Heroes have an infinite capacity for stupidity... THUS ARE LEGENDS BORN
All tabulations are postCrisis. Let me know if I have miscounted or misconstrued anybody.
I left out the Starman family as they didn't serve together really. More a passing of the torch. I was also leaning more toward extended families within a series. Thus teams like JLA and JSA don't qualify. They were books designed to bring heroes from disparate titles together in one place.
Any comments and diputes welcome of course. And families we haven't thought of are welcome.
Candysuxxx. Let me know if I'm wrong on The Starman issue.
