hell, just give me some juice and i will be a ####ing Col. i should call the national baseball league and see if they have any steriods i can borrow. [/b]
I think you're going to have to wait, the NHL and NFL are borrowing th stuff from the Baseballers.
Deathstroke used to be the Mosaic World...until Mosaic World came out. Until they give Team Deathstroke some USEFUL cards to support it, his 7 drop's ability to recuit unaffiliated people to his team is worthless. Mosaic World is cheaper and comes out sooner. ANd, is it just me, or did Emperor Joker get the short end of the stick. Mechanical wise, he doesn't even fit into Arkham (more into Manhunters) and he isn't so threatening for having the ability to remake the world in the comics. He made the good guys bad and vice versa. He killed Batman a different time every day. He should at least have some twistedly creative way to mess up your opponent. Like this maybe?
"When Emperor Joker comes into play, choose a team affiliation. Your opponent's characters lose their team affiliation and gain the chosen team affiliation.
Pay 1 Endurance > Name a character. Whenever an exhuasted defender with that name becomes stunned this turn, Ko it. Use this ability once per turn."
It makes the bad guys good, or vice versa, depending on the team. It doesn't stop Team attacks or reinforcement, but it stops team stamped effects. And the Smiles, Everyone ability is like him killing Batman, AND it fits into Arkham! With an ability like that, I wouldn't mind him being a 17/17 with no flight or range. He is, after all, The Joker. Not exactly the peek of physical perfection.
cyke, captain america (or steve rogers rather), would have given his life for his country. But he wasnt in the condition to do so. therefor, he was enrolled in the super soldier program to become peak human in all aspects. during the super soldier program he learned tactics and stuff like that. Cap A is way cooler than batman.
here's a little scenario that is made possible via VS that is way out of the box when it comes to comics. dazzler and forge decide that they are badasses and so forge throws dazzler at the DARK PHOENIX and tada! their little fastball special takes down a badass entity.. a 10 drop and guess what? they are 1 drops.. retarded? i'd say so i could think of other instances but i'm tired :)

Oh come on throwing Forge at Dark Phoenix. She'd never see it coming. :p
Yeah, considering Forge is about the size of her big toe! :p But that's the point of versus! To do what would be unthinkable in the comics! Otherwise my people would never play the bad guys because eventually they would lose! They have to! It's like, comic book code, almost like the ten comandments, except for the lovable geek in all of us! YAY FOR THE CRAZY, IMPOSSIBLE STUFF! WOO!
I guess my major problem (aside from the treatment of Deathstroke, already mentioned above) are the representations of Superman. Aside perhaps from BBBS, none of them 'feel' like Superman at all.
not to even get involved in the Cap on steorids debate....
Dane Whitman does not fly. Period. While he may someday get an Aragorn equipment or character that ALLOWS him to fly, he doesn't have a power or suit that allows him to fly.
And why should Black Cat get a 6-drop...? I love me some Felicia and all, but she's hardly a power-monger.
Christo: They all feel very much like Superman in the different stages of his career. Don't forget the history of each version represented. And they can't all be 100/100 50-drop beatsticks...
And yes, playin cards like Fastball Special, or even Flying Kick, on certain characters makes the scenario seem kinda silly, but that doesn't mean the flavour of the card is out of context, it just means that when you have generic (ie: un-stamped) cards in a game filled with hundreds, nay thousands of characters, there will be some oddities...
How do you play Fastball Special with no resources in play? Substitute Imperiex or Onslaught or whatever, and you may have a case.
I never really understood how you could play stuff like Flying kick and Up, Up and Away on any character. They should have something that enables them to fly over defenders, not have some god-like leader tell them "I'm going to have you be able to do Flying kicks today. Feel free to attack those guys in the back there without going through the guys in front by running and jumping over them, even if you're not in the physical condition to do so." I see how it could theoretically be used; heros get a surge of adrenaline or something, but perhaps they should limit it to guys that cost 2 or more. Most one-drops are pansies.
Which is another thing. How can Alfred or Boris beat up a guy like Solo, Caretaker, or Melter, or cause any endurance loss attacking directly. Is it a menacing attitude and a swift cane or tray to the head?
