I agree w/ everything listed for the most part, but I think that Straight to the Grave is actually the best card in the set....I also don't think that Zatanna is that bad.
Add World War III to your list.
Edit: I also think that the Anti-Matter Rare (Matter Covergence) is pretty decent.
I admit I'm not convinced that Plastic Man is a lousy rare. I think most people are focusing on the fact that his attack will pretty much never be above 4 so yeah, it's a drop below, but played smartly, his defense will frequently be one or two drops above the curve (e.g.: 6-9). He's basically a cheap wall that has range (admittedly not going to be used as he's better at protecting) and Evasion. He's probably also a rare as his text is a bit non-standard but overall he's not a bad card.
I was disappointed initially with Power Girl being a rare for what you get from her but I guess a flying character that starts out a drop above the curve (as there's no reason to not have her protecting someone) isn't overly bad. She can lose it and go down to "vanilla" flying 6-drop, true, but overall she's getting better in my eyes.
It's not me the one doing the list guys. I'm trying to get it built with your help. I removed some cards for popular demand, so we can keep it useful.
On the other hand, remember all cards are playable. I guess we didn't get any J. J. Jameson in this set. But there are definitely some rares you would rather not see when opening a booster, since you neither want'em or can trade away easly.
It seems some antimatter players will want Matter Convergence, for example, even if most people have 0 uses for it.

Power Girl's protection bonus being cosmic gave me a great JLI/Team Superman build. With Fortress of Solitude, she can be 6 15/15. Also with the new Steel, you can put a Mother Box out for free a turn eariler so you can restore her counter. Dr. Fate's cosmic @8 is really brutal 1 time, having that able to be done twice isn't all that bad.
Originally posted by cmacbgoode I think that Zatanna is a great card...She'll be sought out if JLA ally is any good, and may make a guest appearance in a TS or TS/JLA deck.
I agree. How is Zatanna a bad card in an expansion built around powering up?
Wow, I was very VERY suprised at some of the answeres I saw.
Power Girl - My friend got her to become a 15/15 against me in the tourny using one other card. A 14/14 character on the 6 drop... I hate her cause she is so good.
People don't seem to like Plastic Man, but I dig his random ability.
Zatanna is nice for a lot of reasons and if you can't see that then you must be blind.
I remember thinking that one of the Poison Ivys I thought wasn't so good.
Unfortunately the Starro I don't really know about. Not digging his power at all.
People complained about the Flash, but it does represent Barry Allen very well and he could just take out all the smaller characters.
Nerons another rare that seems tricky. Good power = bad drawback. I thought no one is gonna want this guy and I got two of him. He's my pick.
Since when is opening an affiliated 7 drop for a faction that plays off-curve thats 17/17 because Juggernaut was game-breaking, has a good abilitiy that's duplicated by a dozen simple attack pumps, and no real drawbacks bad?
No, she's really very bad. I grant that there are worse 6-drops out there, but that doesn't make her better. Power Girl is a 12/12 with flight. That Cosmic ability relies on your opponent not harming your board (unlikely, because I just run somebody into whomever she's protecting) or Power Girl not getting stunned, which in a game where 14 ATK 6-drops are not exactly uncommon seems like a bad bet. And on top of all this, she's a 6-drop for a team that's designed to play short curve.
Most 6 drop are around a 12/12. Sometimes they are one more attack higher or lower. If you have the attack with her you won't have to worry about the support row character. Either way I'd take her any day and she was the last person I wanted to see come out on turn 6 besides Ocean Master who thoroughly cleaned my clock.
