yea.............day 3 tho.......and people playin it in a pc....i can see playing it in a small event or maybe even in a 10k, but a PC, it would be too great to see it top 8!.....but we all know this wont happen....
Common Enemy is seriously underpowered in contrast to other major decks - Sents, Titans, MKKO, Tbolts Combo, Avengers, and Kang Bang.
Sents - CE just loses on turn 6 with no way to overcome bastion. It probably survives to 7 but Magneto kills their board. Hulk (6) has no flight and is stopped by Nimrod protecting Bastion. Null Time Zone means fewer MPs to make it to turn 8. Hounds Lock is a huge threat with no easy way to stop it. If sents is running Anarchy this can ruin the teamup.
Titans - More of an even matchup, but no advantage here.
MKKO - KO is brutal against teamup decks, and CE is no exception. This is a very lopsided match.
Tbolts Combo - if the PTs are played from the row, or 4 drop Doom goes down, how do you stop this?

I beg to differ, my dear friend. Its place is bizarre considering its inherent power... its place is the Underdog Ex-Champion slot. It fits, especially against some of the tricky stuff that is being considered. It may get crushed by CS, but it will always be an option. It has mad tools to tweak with.

But, it could. The more I think about it... the more this "Russian Connection" seems right. Common Enemy could win any tournament it enters on pure talent. Just like Russia in hockey. One thing I do know, there are some secret decks out there that shudder to think about that old-school Diabolical Genius action.
We all know how much I hate the deck, with Flame Trap on four and six and all, but it can never be ignored.
And for the record, its just good to have you back Stu...
Its been so boring around here lately...
Nothing to distract from all the mindless bickering...
Glad to see you here to spread the love/jank...

Here's my thought process: every deck will be doing its damnedest to tech against Curve Sents. My personal favorite anti-CS strategy? Hand hate, but that's for another day.
Yeah, there'll probably a few new things making a big appearance in LA. My personal favorite tech against Bastion is a two-part combo of Dr. Light (6) and Press the Attack. Well, that's really my tech against everything ever, but it's such an easy way to avoid having to care about the stats the CS player can provide to his characters. Imagine:
CS Player: "Oh, noes, I've got three Mark V's in my hand, and three Reconstruction Programs too. I am SO going to win. I'll recruit Bastion. I'm done."
Me: "K, awesome. I've got 7 characters out right now, right?"
CSP: "Yup."
Me: "Fantastic. I'll go ahead and recruit Dr. Light. He'll stun Bastion, and I'll use Alfred to grab a Press the Attack. Then I'll remove Nimrod's counter. Then, I'll play a PTA I already had to stun him. Done."
CSP: "What the?"
Me: "Oh, and at start of the combat phase, Rogue'll borrow the good Doctor's power, and we'll stun the Mark V too. So, it's your attack step first, right? Oh... yeah..."

Cmac, it is great to be back. I'm getting warmed up slowly... soon we will have this place burning up for your love. Or something.
Actually, that burning sensation is something else entirely, but my doctor assures me that it should clear up in about a week.
Seriously, with all the talk about Arkham getting so much help, have you given them any consideration? You've never really expressed much interest before, but they do kinda seem like your kinda crowd...I'm not sure how you incorporate Mulletman, but....thoughts?
Good luck with Sin City Cam. Much love to the janker-money-maker.
