Regardless of where the 10Ks are being held, why aren't any being announced for after Jan '06?

The reason I hear from the rumor mill why you don't know anything about 10k's in 2006 yet is that UDE is letting all the 2005 events finish and have started planning events for 2006 but they may be changing the way they are handing them out to PTO's and how they are letting those PTO's schedule them. I'm sure they are going to be more than fair to every region and respond in kind to the regions with the largest player bases but with the holidays and all and end of year stuff I wouldn't expect any significant news till 2006. So basically just be patient and you'll find out everything soon enough.

i understand the frustration of many members on this board, because playeres where there may be 1 or zero 10ks in there area, so if they wish to attend one, they have to plan in advance to travel, which requires finagling a work/personal schedule, coming up with the travelings funds, and making housing arrangements...i know many gamers in my area are in that boat, being that we might be willing to travel farther if we had more notice so we could gather the necessary funds and all the other requirements...

For North America (US and Canada), all the $10Ks are currently being scheduled. This won't be like the last 18 months, where there was roughly a rolling 3-month window of announced events. Instead, we will be posting them as contracts are signed, and will have 95% of the $10Ks for North America for 2006 announced by early January.

And yes, the last 2-3 weeks of December and first couple of weeks of January are very slow. There's no conspiracy. :grin:

I know that this is kind of off topic, but what do you people think of 2 10ks in one day? Do you think it is too much? Should 10ks be spread out over more time, or not?

It's not something we plan on doing. $10,000 Championships are primarily designed to offer players in a region access to a high-level event, but we don't want to discourage players from traveling to play in them as well.
