Heh, Alex, werent you saying about faces that you should NEVER EVER team attack, if you are, you aren't taking advantage of your character advantage and aren't doing enough damage? Theres no gain if a 2 and a 1 take down a 3, its still 3 resource points for 3. Yet you are including teamups that only give +1 to team attackers, as opposed to the ones that give +1 to attackers. It would seem to me that you should pack 1 task force or un building and 3-4 faces.
Oh and you're missing one of the best 2 drops for the deck--viper.
RE Team attacking: The funny thing is, the FoE deck we ran at LA is nto even viable anymore.
I stand by not team attacking in the original version, because the most common matchup was Curve, or specifically, decks that played one guy a turn (Avengers CE CS SS and to a lesser extent TT). Against those sort of decks you would only win where you could attakc one on one.
The newer version, which Paul Van Der Werk designed and wrote a short article about at VSP, moves with the new metagame, incorporating features that were clearly wrong at LA but definitely right now, such as Dr Light>Speed Demon. In fact, the shift between threes gives a succinct summary of how the deck has shifted in emphasis.
The JLI version loses the ability to deal a lot more breakthrough and but it still retains the ability to flood the board. In fact it does this a lot more consistently, with not only Sue Dibny on hand but also having easier ways to ensure Birthing Chamber and the team-up (which is still clearly weaker offensiuvely but teams up all teams which is a big bonus).
Because of this Screaming Mimi and Dr Light are much more relevant. On top of this, Fatality is so amazing that she needed to be able to operate without contraint, as she effectively does for one slot what NTZ did badly for three slots.
The funny thing is, i guess this deck WANTS to team attack wherever possible, and then team attack to the face. Really this is the only disadvantage of the new version (though i will admit with abd paly it can be substantial). The JLI version is much more consistent and much more durable than the V 1.0. However, if we went back to a curve environment, Faces/Songbird/ Speed Demon would all be much better weenies.
Overall, it is really ahrd for me to talk about this in brief as it goes right to the heart of what an off-curve deck is trying to do. In short, FoE was only ever a vehicle made viable by Beetle/Yellowjacket and Paul's new deck is borne from the same seed fundamentally.
