It's true. All the Johns (and Joans) here at Sunny Acres can't run away like normal potential marks. "Wheel over here and let me show you something, baby."
Wait another minute, we are supposed to be promoting Vs. System here. Sorry folks, please continue.

And of course in doing that, togather we would show the older people how to play VS. which would help promote the game to a new group of people.
So, we go from "How do we promote the game" to another thread where stu and someone else make merriment.
*sigh*
The sad thing is, promotion of Vs. is a really good topic that many people should know and care about.
And, just to make sure my post has some content, I think RyanDG's suggestion to become a TO and hold tournaments on your own is a fabulous idea.
A plan I have is to have periodic EA tournaments in Atlanta (where you can win some of the Judge EAs that I've gotten from judging at large events). Sadly, work and family scheduling have conspired to put this off, but it'll likely happen within a month after PC Atlanta. Be creative.

Dylan, that was part of the first post. The merriment makes people happy while they are doing sad jobs. That makes them come here to be entertained. That keeps Vs. System in the front of their minds. At least that's the theory.
Can you add some specifics about how to become a TO? The Lord had asked that, and I do not know the answer. Thanks.
There you can go through the testing (if you have your UDE number and password) that will allow you to take the Lvl 1 Judge test and the Lvl 1 TO test (as well as player management).
At that point, you'll actually be technically "good to start" organizing your own tournaments.
For further advice, just ask... We'll be more than happy to help you out here on the Realms.
If you want to promote the game, you can do something as simple as buy a starter deck for a friend. I bought one for a pal who was visiting from out of town. I knew he used to be into his comics, so I bought the new X-Men starter for him and he seems really keen.
Build some decks out of your spare commons and uncommons. Sleeve them up and give them out to non-vsplayers at your store.
That makes me remember one of my favorite promotional moments. Casanovapooh had donated a box of the first starters to my cause, and they were still in the closet when Halloween came around. When the kids came trick-or-treating... they got a big surprise at my house!

You at least gave them the starters afterward, right?
Seriously now, that is awesome! Some of them might have just thrown it away, but others really might have caught on to it. Awesome, just awesome! What a great idea. I am impressed. I just wish I had thought of it.

That's funny. In fact, our door got egged when we ran out! Word spread fast, and pretty soon we were forced to give candy. I made sure the kids who got the starters looked able to play, and they were thrilled.
Ah yes, we use to do this at our store during hollows eve. We'd take a bunch of starters and give them out; unfortunately, this became very expensive and we had to cut this out.

What I've been thinking of doing as far as promotion goes. I was going to tape a bunch of common VS cards together in the form of a two-piece bikini, then hire Victoria's Secret models to wear them at local events.
Boobies = Sales

Does this have anything to do with the sudden increase of missing/abducted children in Florida? =)
