Originally posted by Doom2099 i don't see how brotherhood beats squad. squad is faster and has panacea potion to keep up the board presence.
also i think avengers beats brotherhood. slightly better characters, slightly better pumps. Marie can be a pain, but BH wins on 6 and Avengers likely can stall it out for 7 and Herc. it's not too bad against squad. it's possible to go 6, where Avengers look good with Wonderman.
Squad (i think) is somewhat disfavored because any stall/disruption will hurt it bad. now, none of those decks really run any of that stuff. but the field is diverse enough to see lots of things hit play, and you don't want to lose to a random magnetic force. the full curve decks (BH and AR) don't have that problem as much.
Brotherhood is not too bad and can very much beat Avengers. The 4-drop chick that shuts down plot twists is a huge pain in the ass to deal with. If you don't hit a full Wonder-Man on turn 6 then you're going to have trouble.
In testing I've seen some very good Squad decks, so they will still be around. Morlocks will be very tough and Morlocks Physical is actually not bad either. Hellfire Club can be good but they have a weak early game.
Originally posted by kamiza He did. He ran Hellfire at the Slough City Champ and got second. ;). Although, I suppose that proves your point though.. but hey, our team mate took first with the Avengers deck - so yay - go Team Betty!
Hey, fair play to that, I don't mean to slate originality. It's just hard to come up with something yourself that's actually going to bring you some level of success.
I'm pleased to see HFC do well. Can you give us a list Dr.light, or would that go against what you posted? :p

I have the list, but I'll leave it to him to decide whether or not it goes public. Personally, I'm sticking with our original(?) Avengers build for the Luton City Champs this weekend
A few people have asked me about the Brotherhood build we were using. We went heavy on the cycling plot twist and stun-back features.
Disclaimer: We tested this deck the least, mostly because we didn't enjoy playing it. Feel free to test it yourself and help us confirm/fix the matchups.
The curve is something like:
Rem-Ram/Kleinstock
Chrome + Amelia
Joanna/Senyaka
Spoor/Anne-Marie
Polaris/Sabertooth
Harry Delgato
And the other cards were:
Boot to the Head
Planet X
The Acolytes
Heroes in Reserve
Go Down Fighting
Planet X
Sovereign Superior
You mulligan for Go Down Fighting and Amelia. Then you just never ever let your opponent attack without getting a stun-back, and cycle through to get extra damage when you attack.
Don't be afraid to flip up plot twists in the row, you simply replace them with reservists going down fighting when you're on defense.
It beats Squadron and Avengers a goodly portion of the time. It can have consistency issues, however.
It wins against Squadron by always stunning back. Their huge characters aren't so good if they can't keep them around. (Panacea Potion hurts, but they don't always hit enough of them.)
Avengers loses to the massive damage and again, not being able to keep their characters around. Avengers seems to win most currently when it can keep Black Panther hitting for 7 extra damage every turn. With Brotherhood, he simply gets stunned back and dies.
(And it will never make it to seven either way.) Realize that turn 6 is where Avengers can't reinforce some guy in back, who then gets pounded for 20+ damage after pump, and then the front guy, with no reinforcer left behind him, gets blasted for another 12 or so.
That said:If you dont have a strong feel for the meta or can play you deck blindfolded by now you may be in trouble...
As much as I hate to admit it Morlocks are probably the deck to beat. Most people haven't found the variant that is dominant nor do they really know how to play it fortunatley.
another interesting thing to remember for the chain is that if the defender evades, you could still play effects on your attacker like repulsor ray to prevent further evasions, this would be good tech against backs against the wall.
I liked the idea of it for awhile, but I'll probably end up cutting it. I'm still clinging to running 2 though.
HFC - Sebastian, Pryor. There are other payment abilites here, but there's a good chance to chain the rest. You might screw the Magneto ability now and then, as I often like to keep shinobi out, rex him, then deadly games and use Mag's ability.
X-men - Recovery abilites.
Avengers - Rick Jones.
Squad/Faces/Brotherhood doesn't really care as near as I can tell.
