I still can't believe it really happened.
Btw Stu - your support for Graham put a huge happy face on my otherwise depressing weekend. (It's depressing to realize that you are horrible at this game... but that's neither here nor there)
I had a good time all around though and that's what really matters (though a few dollars in my pocket and the chance to draft day 2 would have been better ;)).

I have never had a problem with it myself. Attitude adjustment is your friend!
(In fact, with a wife as gorgeous as yours I don't think it would be possible for me to get depressed ever. Wait a second, that's the way my life really is! Congrats RDG, your girl is amazing.)

Dude, you don't remember how much I owed him for this? He was already my hero:

Originally posted by spid3rm4n I still firmly believe all of the hate around here is a result of jealousy. As kids, everyone wants to be popular. EVERYONE. The mature kids are the ones who don't openly announce it or go to extreme measures to become popular, but deep down in everyone's heart is the desire to be loved and in a sense worshipped by your peers for your excellence. As time passes and we grow older, if we don't become popular we start to hate and resent the popular kids. Why? We can make up excuses like "oh they're just total fake wannabes" or "they're just all around jerks; why would I want to be one of them?" but in reality we're just jealous of the fact that they get attention and we don't.
I haven't had very much exposure to the pros (none of them live in my area) so I can't say whether most of them are nice or jerks or whatever. Nor can I really say if they fuel the game's economy or encourage people to play. All I know is we all want to be one, and when our dreams are silently but firmly shattered we turn to an outer sense of apathy, an inner sense of defeat, and an overall sense of jealousy. Jealousy becomes hate, hate manifests itself wherever it can; usually internet forums like these.
Yep, that's the man who won his way up to two wins away from Top 8 at age 13. He proved once and for all that the dream is reachable, and Graham is now a legend and an inspiration. No one will ever be able to take it away either.

Until you break Top 50 at a PC, with two handfuls of big-name front-page "real pros" beneath you, you just won't understand. Luck magic works in mysterious ways. You would wear the exact same thing for $850 and a feature match, eh?

No, probably not. I value my self-respect a bit more than $850 that I'd blow on something useless (me having no bills to pay). If anything would be important to me reputation wise, would be to be a "real pro" more so than to be beating "real pros". My studies, lack of any deck building skills, and sheer lazyness (a fault of mine) don't allow me to do enough to win any real money in vs, though I still do enjoy the awesome drafts/sealed decks I play.
Originally posted by Keleko I was very excited for Graham doing as well as he did. He actually got to sit in the feature match area twice, but they didn't cover the first one (which he won).
I was Graham's opponent for that first feature match (round 16) The game was awesome, coming down to a shake it off on Black Canary to stunback my Martian Manhunter so his Aquaman could swing back through The General and deal enough breakthough for the 2 pt win. Graham was classy all the way and one of many awesome people I battled this weekend. Great job at the PC!
You know, I think that having a 9th place finisher with the same amount of points as 8th place is a problem. They should insert a clause or something like if that happens, 9th place loses TB 1, but is higher on TB 2 and TB 3, there's a match for 8th place or something. But, then again it wouldn't be fair to the guy who finished 8th. But then again, players who get 2/3 TB's should be placed higher. But what do I know.
Originally posted by Warran I'll still make fun of his use of both "pwn", and his poor taste in shirts.
lol, it would've been worse if you saw what I was wearing underneath that hoodie. I had on my UNC Basketball shirt, and anyone watching the tournament knows what happened to them.
maddfez- I'm really sorry but I can't remember your name (>_<, I'm pretty bad with those) but I do remember our match and it truly was a great one. You were a great opponent, and congrats on your money finish.
