well, against Roy, you want EVERYTHING to be perfectly documented anyway :)
Originally posted by merdle my question is, why the heck was his opponent card counting every turn? lol
His opponent's mannerisms or something probably made him suspicious. The fact that an extra card was found reinforces his suspicions. He probably doesn't count everyone's cards, every turn, in every game he plays - that's anal!
Originally posted by Wrathraven this reminds me of the Hans thing. It's so blatant, you almost WANT to get caught. Who wouldn't notice 4 (!!!!) extra cards?
I saw the 10 K DQ. I was playing in the game next to them. Basically, the guy drew 3 cards on 3 or 4 turns in a row. His opponent looked at his hand and said, theres no way you have that many cards on turn 4(he hadn't played any effects that let him draw). The judges came over and counted and could not account for the extra cards in any way. The guy made some lame excuse like the sleeves got stuck together. They then asked him to go back to the judging area and told him he would be given one last chance to come clean.
This was definitely cheating, and involved more than drawing one extra card. The thing that went through my head afterward was how many times someone has probably done it to me, because I never pay that much attention to my opponent when they draw and usually only take note of hand size when Joystick, Shape, etc are around.
Good to see Jerry finally got what was coming to him. He showed up at the MD X-men Pre-release a month or so ago with a constructed deck basically. He got caught and DQ'd after the judges checked his deck.
Roy on the otherhand is just a shady player. Guy makes fundemental play mistakes to see if you will catch them and then gets all defensive when you call him out.
Glad to see the judges and players are on top of this and making the right calls for the integrity of the game.

LOL You haven't heard much about Roy? Or just haven't had personal experience with his massive cheating? Go read the PCLA thread for two "awesome" stories about Roy's 'fundamental play mistakes' there.
Oh! And the third from Dalton that actually is a fundamental play mistake, where he passed Dalton _3_ Faces of Evil. LOL
