Avengers and Green Lantern. Most of my favorite card art came from those sets. GL swarm and AGL were the 1st semi-competitive decks i ever built so there's sentimental value there too.
DGL for sure. The variety of all of the teams in the set as well as common and uncommon "staples" make it a fun and easy set to use. The set actually inspired me to read up on a lot of the lore behind it.
DGL for me as well. It was the first time I could really feel the synergies of team-building, and was also the first time I could build a good constructed deck with no rares. The flavor of the whole set (with cards like Abin Sur who KO'd to find his 'successor' and Rot Lap Fan having Concealed) was off-the-scale cool to a geek like me.
I would have to say Avengers. To this day I fiddle with those teams more than any other. I also love the characters. The Avengers are really good. Squad is great. Kang is one of my favorite villians. I also truly believe that a non-faces Thunderbolts deck is just a card or two away from making them good.
I really like the X-men set because the X-men is my favorite team and the Acolytes are my favorite bad guy team. I also liked the Avengers set because I really like the Avengers. I hope they finish out this really big team.
I like the sets that had the most playable teams come out of them.
Green Lantern (GLEE/Glock, AGL)
Avengers (FoE, Avengers, Squadron)
JLA (Good Guys, Injustice Gang)
X-Men (xmental, hellfire, morlocks, BH reservist)
IC (too soon to tell)
So since Xmen and Avengers gave the most playable teams i would go with them.
I got to give it to xmen though. They didn't have one bad team out of the bunch. Even Avengers had the pathetic masters of evil resource point curve that was terrible. Kang never really performed well. GL had Manhunters and Antimatter issues, JLAs Secret society has yet to really amount to much. I wont even go into the horror of Marvel Knights only getting one good team out of 4.
X-Men seemed to give you the most to play with. IC at the moment looks to have shadowpact and checkmate so far. Villains and JSA i'm still not totally convinced on. If they pop though thats 4 good teams out of one set. On par with xmen and origins.
I got into the game about a month after MOR hit, so I was there for the first day when we started opening packs.
"Lady Shiva does WHAAAAA?!?!"
Plus, it was the set that gave us Gotham Knights. I still have enough Alfreds/Fizzles to support full complements in both of my permanent decks (The Brave and the Bold & My Beloved).
After that, I would have to say MXM. I just find the synergy with the mutant powers to be very cool. And more compelling, if less powerful, than willpower.
avengers. i have more fun playing sealed than any other format and it was by far the best limited set. and faces of evil is my favorite constructed deck =p
