And yeah, we did think about The Alley. We went with Leslie Thompkins's Clinic in the end because it kept you alive if Ahmed and Max were both stunned, and Huntress could handle the majority of the combat-phase KO effects (the endurance is also nice, and sometimes surprisingly useful.) Obviously, The Alley is specifically very good indeed against Fatality, Flawless Victory, which is getting more and more popular, and I would have no problem with its inclusion.
I just found that when i didn't draw it naturally that was game ruined. Now I much prefer running the fate artifacts. A 10/10 on turn 3 with a couple of tricks will win you the game. Checkmate is the deck that can handle them the best.
Also Tom, DT has said it himself, your PC winning deck now needs to evolve to keep up. It can be hated against well.
I know it needs to evolve. I've talked about some changes, and some more possible changes, in the article I'm writing on the deck. But really, pre-July 1st Silver Age is pretty shaky, and post-July 1st is a completely different format, so of course it's uncertain which current decks will end up thriving.
We've toyed with it a little. The problem in Golden is that the burn decks are at least a full turn quicker, and you have that much less time to set up. Obviously you get some lovely toys, like Lazarus Pit, but you also have a lot of troublesome things to deal with. Total Anarchy isn't pleasant, and it's possible for Doom to overload your ability to Huntress with multiple copies of Reign of Terror. Then there's Terra... If there is a Golden build, it probably has to run Dr. Fate's Tower and at least one Cloak of Nabu just to avoid being taken to pieces by Reign, Terra, Paralysis on Merlyn and so on.
I see your point, but I have a league-mate deck in golden that consistently beats the crap out of titans and doom, however it loses to high voltage. any answers you know of for high voltage?
High voltage is beatable with the deck. Take evens, drop a fated up ahmed on three and fatlity on 4. It seems to me that Dr Pyscho becomes better than talia in golden, controls those nasty burn boards aswell. And yep, you're cmpletely right, silver is about to change all over again, i luv this game.

That was my reasoning for it's inclusion. Fatality is just nasty.
