Previous sentence in your quote:
"In general, however, I want you to feel secure in knowing that Savage Beatdown, Enemy of My Enemy, and most other cards in our game will probably never be banned, because these cards aren’t actually capable of producing a loop or an unintended interaction."
RTFA (article)
My post wasn't directed towards EoME specifically, but moreso the specific portion of the quote I put in bold. EoME is just an easy target because it gets the bulk of the "ZOMG, this card is t3h nutz," attention. There are plenty of other cards that people go ape#### over on forums that do not currently need any sort of action taken them.
I, too, see the game going in an excellent direction at the moment. I still don't want UDE looking to us as the judges of overpowered cards.
EDIT: I will state that them putting down in writing that they have no intentions of banning Enemy is a relief, though. Hopefully, people can stop making threads about it now, seeing as it is (hopefully) moot at this point.
Hoping for an end to the "EoME is teh Brokz0rz!!!111!!!!!ElventyonePWN!" threads is a grand hope indeed, but I think the card is just so polarizing. There is only a very small percentage of forum-cruisers that or on middle ground about this card. Most fall into the camps of "It is great, it opens the meta" or "It's broken, it's killing the game". I'm (and I sure there are others too) of the train of thought that it is a good card, but you don't "need" it to play competitively. Yeah, it's nice, but it is not worth $40 a card to me. Nothing to complain about.
Basically, if I see the words "Enemy" or "EoME" in a thread title, I'm apt to just skip the discussion all together.

Fair enough but you also have to give R&D credit for keeping a very close eye on boards such as this to stop certain NPEs before they get bandied about too much.
Sure we had another banning this week but how many people are really surprised by that announcement. They are putting strong cards out there that test the game & players and getting it wrong so seldom.
My only personal gripe is that the last 3 decks I have built have all been nerfed by errata or bannings. I suppose I should stay away from combo decks for a while.
I don't think there is any reason to fear the banning of Enemy of My Enemy. Wayne Manor, on the other hand, will soon be banned based on its raw level of power and its clear demonstration of such power.
Actually, I think he was being pretty serious. So you are saying that Wayne Manor will become the substitute for GbnF in infinite loop deck, I assume?

You forget that there is a faction (myself included ) that think EOME is a great card for opening up deck possibilities (not b0rk3n) but do not think that it is a healthy for the game to have a staple, generic 4-a-deck* card like that in the rare slot - It effectively creates a $200.00** minimum barrier to entry before you get the other 56 cards for a competetive deck in two of the supported formats.
I'm one of those folks that would like to see EOME reprinted. Maybe even as an uncommon.***
I still don't see how this is mo0t, or when you**** get to declare the issue resolved.
* Yes, here are decks that don't use EOME. Titans and sub optimal Good Guys builds, for example.
** I've got my four and price is not an object for me personally (Just ordered $600.00 worth of singles to fill out my playsets), so cram it up your arse if you were one of the dweebs preparing an "If you can't afford teh cards then don't play, ha ha noob" comment.
*** Would not shed a tear, having mine devalued. I'd be happy to see the kids at hobby league given the tools they ought to have for deckbuilding.
**** Only Stu has the rights to declare an issue over, point out the haters and angels and tell everyone to move on, here on VSrealms. Know your role!
