You can't just start a story without finishing it. What happens to the trolls and the goats? Do they make peace? Do they enjoy an intellectually stimulating conversation about Vs. System? Do the goats gore the troll? Does the troll eat the goats?
Finish the story. I want to know what happens!
I get the feeling I'd be locked from a lot of threads.

LMAO.
I didn't care to know the answer to these questions before, but I do now.
Damn you Zarbon. ;)
Ultimately, I don't think "ban user from thread" should be a option. The reasons cited by Ranma provide a good explanation of why. Also, when there are other solutions (ie. ignore, quote without quoting - (changing original post)) it seems unecessary.
Wow.
Paretheses within parentheses this time.....I think i have a problem....
You know what would be cool as hell? If the mods put him on Ignore for all members but himself. Then he could keep trying to incite bad feelings under his account, but no one would have to endure the sight of it.
Repped for ingenuity, unfortunately we don't have the science to back it up.
On my website, I take a different approach. We have a usergroup called "F***ing Ret@rd". If anyone acts like a total pillock, I change their usergroup appropriately. They have limited forum capabilites and will only be promoted out of the group after an improvement in behaviour. Their name is forever recorded for public record in our Hall of Retardation.

This is seriously the coolest thing I have read in a LONG time.
